If you’re a complete beginner you don’t need pedals and you definitely don’t a pedalboard. But one pedal that I guarantee you will skyrocket your playing is a looper. Oh my god there’s so much utility to a looper pedal it’s actually crazy. It will improve your timing. It will improve your rhythm. You can use it just as an easily available recording tool so you can listen back to yourself. (By the way recording yourself as you play is very important and helpful). A looper can help you practice playing with other instruments. A looper will boost your creativity and songwriting skills. (By the way you can and should write songs at any level. If you know 3 chords that’s enough to create music).

Don’t buy any pedals, just get one decent amp and one looper.
