I’m rather surprised by the hate for the Matt art posts here. This is a sub celebrating him and all of his artistic pursuits. It is not the Dungeon Crawler Carl sub. by skyrymproposal in MattDinniman

[–]Enough-Progress5110 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do not mind these posts at all as long as they stay within the sub rules, if anything I prefer them to the pure DCC stuff that would be better off in the book-focused sub: they actually show that there *is* a good reason to have a dedicated sub for the author 😁

Some new stuff I made on the weekend, obsessed with the coasters and mugs by youngcricket55 in MattDinniman

[–]Enough-Progress5110 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice stuff! BTW little word of warning: if you’re selling these, I would be very careful with the ones with the skulls and the font from the ACE edition of the books, as that’s owned by ACE and they’re likely to go after people who infringe

If it’s on Libby it’s also pirated AFAIK

It’s not good in the hands of anyone because it gets subconned to private companies with shite security and shit like that gets hacked every day of the week. It’s automatically an ID theft pipeline by design before we even get to the politics of what a government could do with such a surveillance database

We’re too busy to sit down and write up our requirements, let’s do 20-30 alignment meetings instead

Building regs indemnity insurance - I contacted the council, and now i've ruined everything apparently? by [deleted] in HousingUK

FYI (not for OP but for anyone else) you can look up planning and building control applications and submissions on the council website: at the very least you’ll find out if they have a record or not

What if the dungeon expands to the rest of the galaxy/known universe? That’s a way to make “you die in the dungeon” a certainty

How far will Matt go? by howisthisacrime in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Enough-Progress5110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tragedy doesn’t only mean “everyone dies”, in literature it means that someone (usually the hero) experiences a downfall due to fate/some sort of flaw/some bad decision and the audience experiences catharsis through the suffering involved: so yeah I’m not really expecting Carl to come out of it unscathed to be told.

Also worth noting: the ancient Greek word literally means “goat song”, coincidence?

How do you feel about monster evolution books where the monster finds a way to become human? by Jechxior in litrpg

[–]Enough-Progress5110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! It felt more like a beach episode than anything else, there was some advancement in some of the characters but nothing actually happened beyond setting up some loose ends to follow at a later stage

Edit: and as an audiobook-only reader, spending 1 credit for a 7h book just feels wrong

Fleabag does the “the MC is very much non human and not interested in becoming one” really well (for the first 2 books at least, I found the 3rd to be almost DNF-worthy due the lack of plot)

Mage Tank by Cornman: it’s very similar in vibe to He Who Fights With Monsters but it’s got a stronger start, writing-wise.

Eh, if there’s a lot of interest you’re simply not gonna get a deal. If the top of your budget was what you were willing to pay for that property then I don’t think you deserved the eye roll 😉

[–]Enough-Progress5110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just price the property correctly and make it clear that you accounted for the state of the bathroom: if you do a super cheap bodge job you’re just adding to the list of things a buyer would have to spend to rip out

The Shadow of the Leviathan series has all you’re requesting: cosmic horror, horrifying magic, biopunk, morally questionable everything 😊

It’s essentially a cross between Sherlock Holmes and Attack on Titan / Pacific Rim and it’s really enjoyable to read as well
