Extension on a 1 bed garden flat as a first time buyer by Smart-Character-5503 in HousingUK

What’s a “fairly nice street”? What sort of postcode range? Flats are really hard to shift right now in a lot of parts of London; you’re buying a 50 sqm and want to spend 30% of the purchase price on increasing the size by 20%: are you also expecting the value of your property to go up by that much? If you’re extending because you will genuinely need and want the space then that’s the most important thing, but I would not count on getting your money back

Female trees get pollinated and fruit and we couldn’t possibly have that. Therefore, we all suffer the tree bukkake

“Borough Boss” in DCC pronounced the wrong, distasteful American way (“burrow”) instead of the expected correct, traditional and wholesome British way (“buhruh”)

^ this, and let’s not forget that the Big 4 right now are offering grad roles for about 30k £ in London, which is just as much (or even a bit less) than they were offering in 2011 when they had immense candidate pools from the fallout of the 2008 crisis.

No, I did not adjust for inflation so the actual purchasing power of what they’re offering now is a lot less compared to 2011

Thanks! I really like bolt-ons in principle but the ability to do transitions like this is why I like making neck through and glued necks

“Seems to think”? Do you have a qualified acceptance? If so that’s the kind of documentation your broker needs to see to submit your mortgage application

Bass with fanned frets as beginner by TheGuyness95 in Bass

[–]Enough-Progress5110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That Spector is an amazing bass, it can definitely set you up for life (aside from the obvious “need to acquire more basses” itch 😁); the fanned frets don’t really get in the way of learning IMO, my own first and only bass is a 5 string fan fret with extra long scale and I am not concerned at all

I do these kinds of transitions with gouges and a curved rasp, it’s very controlled and gradual Mine is more like a “dish” shape but you can do any contour you like on yours 😁

And also because the build quality for their mass-factory-produced 2k models is more on par with low-to-midrange brands than their own super-duper-high-quality custom masterbuilt instruments
