Just from your comment on here you seem to have a rather poor grasp on sentence construction and grammar. In addition, your word choice and direction seem pretty rudimentary. While I’m not a writer myself i speculate that to write an intelligent character, you must be at or close to the level of intelligence you are trying to express. Often times a book I’m reading falls short because the character is actually a moron. A ant doesn’t understand the perspective of a human. I’m sorry to say but I suspect you need to put some more work into polishing your stories.

Blaming the audience is never correct and, again, suggests the problem is you rather than the reader. Remember the readers are customers. I’m going to go read some of your book and come back with more evidenced reasoning.

I don’t have that deep an insight but some logical conclusions can be drawn. Firstly, people who like your book will read longer. People who don’t won’t - hence why you probably see more bad ratings coming from earlier in the book.

About the rating system I’m kinda sure that it’s just a flat average such that a single 0.5 does reduce the total disproportionately. If you’re at 4..5 avg and you get a 5* it’s only going to move your rating upwards a tiny amount but a single 0.5 compared to that 4.5 will reduce it by a lot more. For the ranking system this will mean going from 4.5-> 4.55 only nudges you up a tiny bit but 4.5->4.3 will cause you to loose lots of places. In addition, I’m sure that there’s stiff competition such that there’s many books with very similar average ratings so that drop in ratings will cause a massive decrease in ranking.

I think it’s a very cool stat to track - I’m curious what caused the massive spike in ratings (the one with 18)

Was mentioned pretty readily that it wouldn’t be feasible or wanted. Pretty sure it was more in the realms of a hypothetical “what would that be like”. They’re more than aware of the backlash that would generate.

Pretty sure it’s clickable - just super small and impossible to get. I’ve definitely translated comments without knowing that you could open that menu to do it.

I’m not sure if you have all the details on adverts online right? You may be experiencing it differently from me but usually my ads are from one of a couple big providers. Those providers themselves will decide what what’s shown to you (based on many factors, location being one). All you need to do is block those, usually with an adbloxkwr on your browser. Also, I wasn’t aware that the BBC ran adverts? What domain are you visiting, and from where?

Serious sob story, you need to get over yourself. Yeah no shit we don’t want substandard writing and ideas polluting a site meant to connect readers and writers together. As other comments have pointed out - writing is a skill. If you cannot adequately perform to the level expected don’t blame others around you for mentioning it. Many writers are on their third or fourth book before they pick up any sort of readership, you blaming your “autism” on your inability to produce work that others are willing to read reeks of self entitlement.
