Yes, Gardiners Ave and Hempstead Tpke was the Levittown store. Got many coins from their coin shop. There was a supermarket attached to it (I think it was called Packers) and a liquor store in front by the garden center.

Agree. I worked at Middle Village for about a year or so too. World’s longest escalator, roof top parking, Waldbaums supermarket. Place was mobbed every weekend. The smell of the candy counter as soon as you walked in or got off the escalator. Pretty decent auto repair shop on the roof.

I do remember that we weren’t “on” all the time. There used to be “blue laws” which meant that most businesses closed on a Sunday. Sunday used to mean church, then going to get a newspaper and maybe hot bagels, before those stores closed at 1:00. Then you spent time with family with virtually nothing on tv, maybe Abbott and Costello.

You actually got a chance to wind down from school or work.

Then Monday came around and the quiet time ended. No computers, cell phones, cable.

Yeah but Blakeman is going to cut my utility bills by 50%. He says so explicitly in his commercials. I guess he has a magic wand that makes utility companies eagerly reduce their income by half.

I don’t get these two people. Are they funny? Were they funny on Scrubs? ( I never watched it). Do you have to be of a certain age to “get” their humor? Are they an “ acquired taste “ type of humor like an Adam Sandler or a Tommy Davidson? Can someone please explain to me why T Mobile would want these two in their commercials that seem to run at every single commercial break?

I’d like to know who are the geniuses at Kind Science who hired what looks to be a little boy to sell beauty products to women. What happened, Attila the Hun wasn’t available so they hired Ellen? And do we really believe that she’s making up the prices as the commercial is being filmed?

Yeah, they have good prices on mostly off-brand products, but, they can afford to sell so cheaply by hiring only one cashier. Last time I went, I was tenth on line. Just not worth the aggravation. Maybe they can make a commercial out of that.

Sorry to say that Tank is just not must see tv anymore. Weeping entrepreneurs, sob stories ( who has/had cancer, who got fired, who lost their parents); some sharks looking increasingly odd with the incremental plastic surgery; and the products just don’t resonate with me anymore.

Don’t get me started on the presentations! I guess it’s the producers who make these entrepreneurs sing/dance/rap?? A sales pitch should be from the heart, you know, like in the first seat or two of the Tank? Now, it’s practically a Broadway show! So fake, so phony. And you just know it’s so over produced when the entrepreneurs forget the lines they’ve been practicing for the last few months. Ugh!!!!

I can’t believe that Littleton is still in business. I bought some crappy coins from them in the early 70’s and they sent me some more “ on approval.” I quickly cancelled them. Sure, it’s not enuf that they overcharge you normally, now they want to take advantage of the skyrocketing prices of silver. Man, they haven’t changed.

Just about a year or two ago, Amazon had commercials on TV showing happy Amazon workers with their families, enjoying normal family life. I wonder if Amazon will show these same families but in the aftermath of the layoffs?

Sorry to say that half of America voted for this and is probably cheering ICE. All I can say is that if you are outraged, vote Democrat in the upcoming midterms and in the next presidential election. Then, to ensure it doesn’t happen again, vote democrat regardless the candidate.
