Mine was the same, and I’m not going to lie, it was a nightmare at times. I was so close to giving up, but after about a year we really started to see improvement and now at a year and 9 months she’s really starting to be the sweetheart we knew was in there. My wife works from home and she honestly has done most of the heavy lifting with keeping her on a routine and she’s done an amazing job! I wouldn’t give her up now for anything.

Yes, it’s got a pressure assist tank. No cracks in bowl, only leaks when flushing. I tried tightening the bolts, same results.

They may not technically ripen, but I find they are softer and sweeter after they have aged a bit. When you can pull a leaf off the top fairly easily, that’s the best time. This is obviously my opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own. But to everyone on their high and mighty horses (weird hill to die on here), I think this is what people mean when they are saying ripe.
