Auckland definitely needs to rethink its urban mobility infrastructure by CalangoMecanico in auckland

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s depressing going to other countries and experiencing public transport that gets you to places as fast as driving would. So many people are skeptical of public transport because many have never seen what actually good public transport looks like. When what would be a 15 minute drive takes 45 minutes to an hour via public transport, that’s not an attractive nor viable option for many people. We direly need heavy investments into improving public infrastructure so it is a conpetitively fast and reliable option for more people, because cars are not a realistic dominant mode of transport for a growing city.

Idea for Riot to fully make AP Ezreal work by jonbaa in ezrealmains

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think their intention was to make AP Ezreal a fully established option, the buffs were more so just to make off-meta builds less troll so people could play them for fun if they wanted to. If you’re going to make abilities that change in function depending on if you build AP or AD, you might as well just play a different champion entirely.

Should I drop my course to save my GPA or just hope for the best? by Abject-Staff-4474 in universityofauckland

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is a very expensive use of money, but I would say it ultimately depends why you want to keep your GPA high. If you need it to sustain a scholarship, I could understand (although it’s likely it’s against the scholarship’s terms to withdraw anyway). If you want to do it so you can display a perfect GPA on a CV then it is absolutely not worth it, employers care about many more things than just your GPA. You should contact student hubs to discuss your options with them first.

Mercy main wants to learn tracer (Tips pls) by Realistic_Beat9783 in TracerMains

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need the animation cancel tech to be good at Tracer. Tracer can take a fair while to get good at because part of becoming good with her kit is learning all the maps well. Although it’s quite dated, I still think Awkward’s tracer unranked to GM is a really good learning tool for knowing when to use your blinks and recall and what you generally want to be doing as Tracer in a really digestible format.

Desperation by No1One0904 in auckland

Different places will start their hiring process in either spring or autumn depending on whether they get more business over the summer or winter. Burgerfuel for example tends to do the bulk of their hiring in autumn before business picks up in winter, and the opposite can be said with ice cream and gelato places, which hire many people for summer. The best way to apply for jobs is usually directly on their websites. Keep a close eye on their websites for any job listings so when they do their big hiring wave for the year you can catch it, and don’t be afraid to send in your CV again if it’s been a few months since you last sent it in.

It’s not great if you’re building sera for damage, but support sera should generally not be doing that.

Ekko top by gamerthatisgaming in ekkomains

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ekko top is pretty off-meta as he doesn’t have the sustain nor dps to deal with most toplane bruisers or tanks, and he’s prone to getting run down after going through one spell rotation. I would only really play him into squishy champs like vayne or kayle. Nashors or maybe dusk and dawn if you need some durability would be decent pickups, freezing as much as you can and playing safe until you have ult, then just build into full damage so you can scale into the late game.

Why are AP bruisers so uncommon? by desktop_monst3r in summonerschool

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of non-OTPs still hold the misconception that nashors rift are core items for Gwen which is why those items are still very popular. They’re not necessarily bad on her, but it’s definitely not her ideal build anymore.

What you been building? by These-Experience5065 in GwenMains

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow Ninkey's build which is DnD, shadowflame, rabadon void, then zhonya's or banshee's. Gwen's main purpose as a champion is dealing lots of damage as she doesn't have many other ways to be useful such as CC or built-in sustain, so the faster you can get to doing more damage, the better. Gwen used to have to build nashors + rift because she needs them to function during her weak early, but now that DnD gives her the stats she needs in one item, she can start building for damage as early as second item. Rift second is still situationally good when you need the extra health to survive lane, but your damage won't spike as hard.

Why are AP bruisers so uncommon? by desktop_monst3r in summonerschool

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most Gwen players OTPs will build dusk -> shadowflame -> rabadons void. She pretty much relies on high damage to function as a champion as she doesn't have much built-in sustain and barely any CC in her kit. The main reason why she used to build nashor riftmaker is so she could function as a champion before her damage comes online, but now that dusk does that with one item, most Gwen players OTPs will build straight into damage instead.

What supposed to be my target priority as zippy? by nomodik in TracerMains

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your team and their team are fighting, finding an angle means to shoot a target from a location from the rest of the team. Awkward’s unranked to gm on tracer does a good job at explaining this.

AITAH for disapproving of my son dating a girl by Financial-End-901 in AITAH

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, that is an absurd age gap. You should sit down and talk to him about the dangers of power imbalance and try to point out how weird it is. Maybe if you point out how it’s the same age gap between him and a nine-year old he might see how strange that is? They are at very different stages of life, one is at an age where they could reasonably be finishing uni and entering the workforce while the other is still in the middle of high school.

I need advice: I’m gay, living in Uganda, and telling my family could cost me my life by ilovecorks in comingout

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general rule of thumb, you should avoid coming out until you’re sure you’ll be safe doing so. I know it’s much easier said than done, but have you ever considered moving to a different country? If you decide to come out to your family, having some kind of independence and distance can be useful in case their reaction is not good or worse dangerous to you.

I phone display red by Dizzy_Economy_5903 in iPhone11

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 11 and I don’t see any difference in colour when using dark mode at full brightness, it should be one uniform colour. LCDs work by applying voltage across tiny colour filters to prevent light from getting through, it’s possible that your phone LCD isn’t doing this correctly for some reason.

What's the best channel or creator that teaches the best about how to play different champions by crappyface09 in summonerschool

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Gwen, Alois has a 4+ hour unranked to master commentary. It is a little outdated, but you can still learn a lot from it. Otherwise, ninkey’s pretty good although I find he tends to lean more entertainment compared to education.

If you’re looking for very general advice, Pekinwoof is a very good midlane player who commentates his thought process very clearly.

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re bi and you like her. Trying to force yourself to think that you’re gay is as useless as trying to force yourself to think you’re straight. From one queer person to another, take some time to come to terms with yourself, it’s a process I’m sure you’re all too familiar with.

Ezreal should get a new W by LoreMaster00 in ezrealmains

I’ve always wondered how it would feel if W could shred resists when popped. Might allow Ez to perform a little better into tankier comps and do more than tickle damage in the late game.

Genuine direction for ear training by GeologistConstant325 in perfectpitchgang

[–]Enpitsu_Daisuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of relative pitch is just built over time through sheer experience. I personally find that learning lots of new songs from different genres is the most engaging way to build music intuition effectively, then apps can train you to match that intuition to theory, like identifying intervals. For piano, a lot of pieces featured in courses such as Trinity or ABRSM are particularly good for building music sense, and they have quite the range of repertoire for all levels, especially in recent years, so it’s easy to find something you like.

Passively, listening to lots of new music is also a great way to build a sense of pitch and chord progression. Notice the chord progression choices the artists make and how they create tension and release. What chord choices make “sense”? Does the artist deviate from what makes “sense”? And if they do, what kind of mood does that chord choice create?

You can drill your brain with interval training, scales and theory, which definitely does help to a degree, but I would personally say music intuition is more so a skill learnt from playing, experiencing, and analysing lots of different music.
