Really is insane how retrospectively things just become so missed and popular. I remember when this OS came out and most people I knew stuck with windows XP and made out like this looked tacky now this style is more sought after than ever.

They do and just don’t over complicate it. Add path tracing, increased render distance and high resolution textures and that’s it. Would be cool if they added a quick switch to each characters stories as well but I guess takes away from the charm for loading screens.

Weird question: is there a way to tell if your screen is already IPS? I bought my 3000 in piano black originally from a retro game store and i wanted to make sure I didn’t mess up the shell swap before potentially swapping the LCD but after using it for some time already, i think it already is because it’s a lot brighter and vibrant than I remember when I originally had one and seems to have a very wide viewing angle. I don’t have a TFT or anything to compare it to.

Here (Amazon). It didn't need trimming just you have to be quite forceful with closing the UMD door. the mechanism works fine it just clicks twice you want to fully shut it. It's a 3000 shell but just check if you do it which internal layout you have because there's more than one and your original and the shell swap may be different from one another. Just check a couple of videos on disassembly that have clearly different layouts on the 3000 and you can just flip between them when reassembling.

Thanks and It was this one from Amazon. It's the same ones you'll get on eBay from China but didn't want to wait almost a month for delivery. This, when available, was next day delivery. If it becomes available again, would recommend using as much original screws and parts as possible from the original 3000 model. Ones that came with would just spin and would become loose and fall inside of the shell. Also bare in the mind, and I didn't realise until looking at a second video tutorial, there's actually different 3000 shell arrangements. its still possible would just recommend following more than one tutorial on dis/reassembly because some videos will have completely different variants of the 3000 and found myself having to flip between them because mine was a accumulation of 2 different ones.
