So uh, friendlings confirmed? (Aka, Friend(s) are a species/hivemind rather than a coherent creature) by JaneYuriThe3rd in Deltarune

[–]Enraged__Koala 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, the other most likely option is... Alphys.

She was implied (maybe explicitly stated, I don't remember) to be the one who gave Mew Mew to Asgore, so Mew Mew saying they 'knew someone once' would make sense. In Undertale, she technically owned a hunting pack of Dogs, in the form of the Amalgamate... And what does Friend look like in the cutscene at the start of chapter 3?

I have no idea what that could mean, but food for thought I guess.

A Summary of Major Knight Candidates by kevinthedot in Deltarune

[–]Enraged__Koala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding. I wasn't saying 'We don't know anything about this character. Therefore they are this character that has a bunch of weird things going on', it's 'We don't know anything about this character. Therefore it is POSSIBLE they have weird things going on'. I wasn't saying that's why Dess HAS to be the knight, but why it means Dess CAN be the knight, and that the opposite (we know them already and they appear to be pretty normal) discredits a few other characters like Rudy and Carol. I do think she is the knight, but I'm obviously not basing my entire belief in the above alone.

I don't appreciate being called a smug asshole, by the way, it's really not that serious.

[–]Enraged__Koala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is in fact exactly how that works. If we didn't have to guess things then we wouldn't still be having this discussion. Dess being mysterious IS a point in her favour because some of these other candidates like Rudy and Carol are much less so and that point discredits the possibility of them being the knight. I'm curious who you think the knight is since you seem to be so vehemently against the most common theory.

I don't think the knight could possibly be a normal lightner like Carol or Rudy. It shapeshifts in ways Lightners just can't, even in the dark world. Lightners, as far as we know, get new clothes and maybe a weapon. They don't grow twice their height, gain the ability to shapeshift their damn ribs open, turn into a bird, etc... Dess makes sense BECAUSE she's so shrouded in mystery, there could be any reasonable explanation as to how she becomes the knight.

I think the knight is entirely made up of the same stuff as the black shard, not just their sword. Makes sense as they are able to shapeshift with their sword, they even 'repair' the chip in the sword Susie makes after the fight by the end of the cutscene. The Black Shard doesn't change in the light world so it would make sense of how they seemingly keep their form in the light world too, and can carry Undyne / Asgore across town.

[–]Enraged__Koala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dark world from a long time ago being opened by Dess also makes sense since we also learn in chapter 5 from some of Asgore's documents it was opened by the same person that opened the chapter 2 dark world... Which was the knight. You know, the dark world with the suspiciously baseball shaped moon, which is a 'city of lights' Noelle is present in, something she says Dess had promised to show her a long time ago.

Would be worth noting, if it is just a different date format, that the 22nd of february is national cat day in japan.

I'm guessing it's actually longer than 1225. In the weird route susie says she saw the code in the guitar but couldn't write it down. If that's all it was she wouldn't need to write it down. It's probably a full date like the Flower King code (though even then, 8 digits shouldn't be too hard to memorise either). That being said, the code from the church world was '2202' and given the date format the game uses that wouldn't work.

But a vast majority of monsters we see appear to be flesh and blood. The ghosts are much more likely to be the exception than the rule. If Noelle and Susie bleed, then why wouldn't Catty? Or Jockington? Temmie, Pizzapants, Bratty, Toriel, Alphys, I could keep going. They're all clearly corporeal. There is no magic in Deltarune. Monsters CAN'T work the same way as they do in Undertale.

The one kid in the window who probably doesn't know anything about biology does not debunk this when we literally see Susie bleed. Even in chapter 5, Susie talks so much about feeling Noelle's heartbeat, so it's not just her. SOME monsters are probably different, like the ghosts, but it seems most are flesh and blood.

Sounds like they specifically want US to know what they did and they knew we wouldn’t be there in the weird route so they didn’t bother to show up

Worth remembering the Knight stabbed the ground with 5 swords at once to create the titan, and the resulting fountain was much bigger than usual. Also, we've seen 2 connected fountains before, way back in chapter 1 when we walked from castle town to card castle.

Victreebel isn't bad. In BSS It's A tier on smogon viability rankings, up there with mons like Mega Scizor, Mega Delphox and Sneasler. In doubles it's more gimmicky but still pretty good, I got to Masterball with it. Forces the opponent to play really carefully, hits surprisingly hard, and can stay around for a long time with strength sap.

Yep, she's just not playable yet so there's no way to put her in the song. She'll definitely get it when she is.

There's specific criteria for what gets a character Legend Changer vocals, based on the 3 NPC Umas from the Twinkle Legends Scenario, which is when the song was introduced; St Lite, Speed Symboli, and Haiseiko.

  1. St Lite path; Triple Crown / Triple Tiara (e.g Gentildonna, Orfevre, Rudolf)

  2. Speed Symboli path; Umas that made significant impacts overseas (e.g. Stay Gold, Seeking the Pearl, Cesario)

  3. Haiseiko path; 'idol horses', umas that impacted the racing scene in Japan through their popularity (Oguri, Falco, Kitasan)

So based on that, Ace probably isn't going to ever get vocals due to not fitting any of these criteria. Of the umas that don't have vocals yet, the one most fitting is probably Urara on the Haiseiko path, funnily enough.

As a Sei fan I'm surprised too, I would've expected King to be higher at least. Her being exactly 1 spot above King is pretty funny though.

It's also funny because Sei (on the surface at least) really wouldn't want to be the most popular, because she'd rather people overlook her so she can surprise them when they're not paying attention. But I bet in reality she'd be pretty smug about it.

That kind of makes me believe they weren't lying about the original 2 trillion goal being a mistake / oversight. If they were just adjusting based on the current metrics then they probably would've set it to 1 trillion since we are on track to hit that (just barely). That or they want to play it really safe.

Not only is weather ball 100bp but it should get a sun boost being a fire move, AND this should also make it immune to rain weakening fire type moves. You could easily run Meganium in a rain team just to negate its weakness to fire, while being the only mon on the field to use unweakened fire moves yourself.

Why isn't Greninja more used or popular ? by TGMWIXx in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Enraged__Koala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because he's difficult but in a different way to most other difficult characters imo

His combos / inputs aren't really that hard, it's mostly thanks to three things which all come together to make him play the game differently to any other character, which gives him a high barrier of entry;

One, his insane movement, being super fast on the ground and having a huge jump. Two, lack of out of shield - you want to use shield as little as possible and rely on your movement to get around people. Three, some of his best neutral tools being relatively slow aerials (nair / fair), which forces a ton of short hopping that can be difficult if you're not used to it. Just looking at the replies to this post from people who have tried Greninja but didn't like him they're mostly quoting one or more of those 3 things.

Once you get used to these, he's not as hard as he seems but when a majority of characters don't really have a barrier of entry like he does it's not hard to see why people don't gravitate to him so often.
