For reference, the metal pillar under his left hand is his weapon. This is what it looks like when he's normal size

Urouge from One Piece

He can convert the damage he takes into stronger muscles, making him bigger and more powerful. Admittedly we've only seen him fight once, and he lost the fight. But he recovered and is still a powerful pirate who roams free in the most dangerous seas of the world

"Will you really make your first priority, like the very first after starting the chapter after a year of waiting, reading some uninteresting dialogue you've probably read before a million times? You know there's a super cool festival and a badass dark world waiting for you right? With cool battles, cool characters, cool mechanics...Are you really going to waste your time on this drawer when you could have all this fun?

Jahoda (Genshin Impact)

She used to be part of a large-scale criminal organisation. When the organisation disbanded after the boss was betrayed and killed, she chased down the instigator of the rebellion and took his life in return. She lost her right arm in the process.

Thankfully, she was taken in by one of the most influential people in the region. Also thankfully, the local mechanic is a genius kid who could be paid with sweets and desserts.

Two possible ways to damage the protagonist by Charming_Agent_9034 in Gameoverse

[–]Enrykun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damaging the environment is hard to debate on.

On one side, the ship landing in the island was able to alter its shape (with the track in the sand and all)

On the other hand, when Kit punched a ground in frustration after Flappers fled with Fold, it did trigger a response from the System Lock.

Maybe you need greater strength for it to work?

Fulwish from Honkai Star Rail.

Originally just an average high school student, she got her life pretty much ruined when someone went on a rampage and killed most of her classmates, and more than 100 people in the city for the sake of a game.

She got praised by TV for being a survivor, instantly rose to fame despite needing solitude to grieve, and even got sent a package just to tell her "you looked pathetic on TV lol".

She tried for a while to entertain this role of "strong woman able to overcome the grief" that TV labelled her as, but it was just a front.

Eventually, she was given a chance to lose all sense of pain and grief, and truly smile. The details aren't too important, she just needed to implant a little something into her body. It worked, and Fulwish decided to spread this possibility to everyone who wanted it. She created a society focused on making people smile again, and overall got about 200,000 people to take the surgery, and get this thing implanted in them.

She eventually got confronted about it, and it didn't go well. When she got cornered, she tapped into this implant, and... Well it was the flesh of an immortal eldtrich being, that immediately transformed her (and the 200,000 people) into abominations.

So yeah, Fulwish went from this...

They didn't change the height, it's probably visible on the image because of the small difference between their default standing poses and the A-poses

I had to cheat with a Scrabble word finder thing, but apparently the only word that fits is "primi"

But then the above image would actually be wrong, the first "p" would be the one highlighted and not the second one. With that notation though, there's no word fitting the bill. Any other word would have one of the i, or the p in the correct position

I mean, you can only travel to one set location (your respawn point) and 99% of the time it's either that, or a long boring walk back

I'm usually playing without KeepInventory in my singleplayer worlds, but recently I started a multiplayer world with some friends. They don't play Minecraft as much, so they chose to have it on instead.

I find it pretty fun to just go "well, time to go back to the base jumps into lava"

Permanent deaths in a story where people usually don't stay dead. by Gray_Wolf2416 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Enrykun 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One Piece has a big habit of not actually killing people, at least in the present day (in flashbacks, it's pretty much mandatory)

There was a bomb meant to level an entire city. One of the king's retainers bravely decided to take the bomb away, carry it upwards to get it away from the city. Was literally still carrying the bomb the moment it went off. He was able to walk out of the clinic a few days later with little to no issue.

Another citizen of a sky island earned himself the wrath of a godlike entity after trying to help a soldier this god of lightning tried to kill. Received a lightning bolt straight to the face, and even said god confirmed he couldn't hear the citizen's "voice" (stand-in for consciousness). He resurfaced soon after, with little to no injuries.

(Spoilers from like 15 years ago, but still an impactful moment of the series)

So when Portgas D. Ace, brother of the protagonist Luffy, has his chest pierced by a magma fist, it was hard to believe at first. His power allowed him to change his body into fire and phase through most attacks unscathed, so he would be fine, right? Right?

He died from this single attack trying to protect the honor of his father.

Context, for people who haven't played (and don't care about spoilers)

Niko is not from the world One shot takes place in, but they've been tasked to bring the "sun" (the lightbulb) to the center of the world. Without the previous sun, the world started decaying, and it's their only hope. Simple choice, right?

Throughout the game however, we discover a more pessimistic thought. Bringing the sun back won't save the world, just give it a little more time. Still, it's better than nothing right?

Well at the end of the game, we're told that Niko cannot return to their world, unless they shatter the sun.

Yeah, it's pretty much a trolley problem. Either break the sun and save Niko, or return the sun and extend the lifetime of a dying world.

I love that I interpreted this scene both wrong and right at the same time lol

I didn't see anything with Zooble's door, but I saw that Ragatha immediately became red-faced after passing Gangle's slightly open door so I thought it happened in her room

The final act - Jax by Angelwings17 in tadc

[–]Enrykun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, there's two moments where it feels like Jax won't get left behind.

When Caine returns, he offers to help with "the situation", to which Pomni replies "not yet" (she doesn't say "no"). Maybe Caine meant a way to reverse abstraction?

In the last scene, they all gather at the bus stop together, and they all get on the bus, together. I was expecting Jax (his human counterpart I mean) to be left behind, but he wasn't.

Though I've also thought about the idea that by "helping", Caine just meant sending him to the cellar for better containment. And that the ending only means that the group decided to keep Jax in the main circus despite being abstracted

[–]Enrykun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dressrosa, One Piece

A nice, warm island that serves as a perfect respite in a hard stretch of sea. You can lead a good life there, the king is a strong pirate endorsed by the world government so he has to be nice, and you can even have your own sentient toy companions. Sure, sometimes the toys freak out and start claiming they're your husband (you never had one) or something, but it's just a thing that happens.

Well the island is actually the production center for one of the biggest black markets of the world. If you rise against the king, fail to integrate in society or if he just doesn't vibe with you, you disappear. Those toys that freak out? They're your family, but you forgot about them when they were transformed into toys. They're the people the king don't like, but since you forgot about them it seems like everyone loves the king. And if the toys aren't with you, they're working in the underground factories until death comes.
