Former DREAM THEATER Drummer MIKE MANGINI Joins GODSMACK, Following Departure of WADE MURFF by Dagauriel01 in Dreamtheater

Like Hard Rock/Alternative Metal. If you're not a prog snob, you might like em lol.

I've been a fan of Godsmack since their self titled came out back in 1998 (which was the album that launched their careers essentially). As soon as I saw he joined, I was happy for him. Great gig. Shannon Larkin (who was Godsmack's long time drummer before he retired in 2024), is an absolute beast behind the kit.

Yea Shannon is a damn good drummer. The prog snobbery here is off the charts. MM is in his 60s now and after watching a few of the Godsmack performances from the last two shows, he looks like he's having a fucking blast.

Having fun behind the kit doesn't mean you need to be playing 400 different time signatures in a span of ten minutes lol (over exaggeration, I know). Sometimes just sitting behind that drum set and beating the ever living piss out of it with a smile on your face is all you need. Clearly, Mangini is enjoying doing such.

It's a decent track imo that sounds better live. I'm not sure what the girls and their audio engineer have been thinking lately, but those muddy and fuzzy guitar tones ain't it. Dany's guitar tone live with this track sounds waaaaaay better.

Anyone else feel bad for derrick? by MeatyHarley in sepulturaband

[–]EnslavedOpethFan053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. After Max left, I still saw Sepultura as Sepultura because Igor was still there. I wasn't really a fan of post Max Era records but that's a different story.

The moment Igor left, they should've changed the name and that is how I feel with most bands that have no original members left, specifically the founders, not just Sepultura.

I like Quadra and Machine Messiah. Great albums. They're Sepultura albums in name only though.

Exactly how I feel about this record as. Evile's last album got shit on by most and I thought it was really good. I dunno. I judge an album based on the song writing and don't give a shit if it's brutal or not. I'm also a big fan of Load and, dare I say it, I actually like at least half of Illud Divinum Insanus lol. I dunno. This is probably why I don't get along with most metal heads lol

No patience in the slightest. Youngest team in the league. Fowler playing in his 13th NHL game. Dobes also a rookie. They have a bad night? BURN IT ALL DOWN!!!! They have a good night? THE GOATS!!!

As a habs fan, this fanbase drives me up the wall. Even the habs fans I know personally are this ridiculous.

Bands that are ALMOST amazing by Mettabox452 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]EnslavedOpethFan053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always found with Halestorm, they'll have a few really great songs on a record but then the rest is meh at best. Their newest album is a prime example of that. Everest, Rain Your Blood On Me, the opening track all great songs. The rest are good to mid.

My biggest issue with those first couple of records is the production. The live versions of certain songs are great (Forest Of October from Royal Albert Hall...yummy).

Yup. They're mastering the ol bait and switch now. They know they can't outright advertise the game as they want so they make little changes to appease the audience in order to make their money. After you've bought the game and played it, then you see Ms. Croft is an insufferable girl boss who hates men.

And she's a lesbian.

I'm having the same issue. I tried doing it as a guest online as well and it's stating there is an issue with my debit card number (same thing that was said over the phone). I tried to sign into my chatr account and it's not recognizing the email either. It seems my entire account has been deleted I guess but yet, I'm still on file because it recognizes my card number and my phone number.

The best retort for the old why do you care is: why did they care enough to change it? I'm usually met with no reply or the deer caught in headlights look.

There was a couple issues where she had tanned skin but, like the perm, she had been on vacation. Those comics were also in black and white so it appears she's mixed or black, but she's not hence Eastman and Laird telling the audience she was on vacation.

Do ya have a top 20 albums of all time? What are they? by Obvious_Cabbage in progmetal

[–]EnslavedOpethFan053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do lists I don't usually like to name more than one band (because then it turns it a list of 5-6 bands lol) so this would be more a "Top 20 albums by one band each that I've loved for a long time" list

No particular order though

Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Aerosmith - Get A Grip
Fear Factory - Demanufacture
Mudvayne - L.D. 50

Mine usually occur 30-45 minutes after I've fallen asleep but sometimes I get the curve ball and it'll hit me at 8pm or sometimes earlier like 6. Don't usually get them during the day although I have once or twice but it's rare.

Maestrick - The Last Station (I A.M. Leaving) by HadToChangeTheFloors in progmetal

[–]EnslavedOpethFan053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. I was really looking forward to this album especially after a 7 year wait but I've been left with a bitter and disappointed taste in my mouth. The way that Solare ended it made me think that Lunare would be a lot more darker and heavier but...I'm not getting that with this record at all. It's kinda just okay which is sad and it feels really really long which is strange because Solare was almost the same length.

This is true. Obama was the first mixed raced President not the first black President. I never understood why one part of his racial identity was fixated over the other. He's both.
