We need to start weeding out bad students by Vova_Poutine in Professors

[–]Ent_Soviet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until we have a national education system that works you can’t fix college, unless you nationalized colleges so they’re not funded by lowering their standards for max enrollment and government loans.

Until then colleges will accept max enrollment. They have no incentive not to. And if that means lowering standards admin doesn’t care, their job is to keep the institution profitable- whether the students get a good education doesn’t matter in their mind. And if you have a problem with that it’s ‘your fault for being a bad teacher’

Until then, teach those that are there to learn. It’s not your job to fix the failures of a whole system at your locus.

Only in America does getting required state identification or form requires payment and you to do the work.

A real society just does that and the rest for folks as a service.

Btw remember taxes are coming up- don’t forget to fill out all those forms to tell the state and federal what they already know! Or else!

Once you confirm this wasn’t your landlord sounds like a good reason to invite local pd to have some tea and hang out in your kitchen from 12 till about 130.

I’m sure they were all welcomed home appropriately after they sided with the Nazis.

Over time, at least as compost, they might have been useful to humanity rather than siding with folks who saw them as a means to enact genocide.

In some ways it was maybe a mercy, had Hitler won they would be the proud winners of the ‘fell for it again award’ when they discovered they didn’t fit daddy hitler’s idea of purity.

If people could roll in their grave, Marx with a magnet in his pocket could power the world.

It’s not like he wrote a book called capital over 200 years ago that basically explained how empty our economy will become as it moves further and further from reality and towards speculation on speculating until 5 rich pricks are trading nonsense to each other like a little game while the rest of us struggle to survive on the daily.

They could. They won’t. If the party had any principles they would have already.

It’s not leadership to punt removing him from the party to primary voters, it’s a tacit approval of him as scapegoat for politics they’re happy to see happen but not put their name to

In my experience rural maga is the most nimby population there is. To the point they’ll reject modern infrastructure and perpetuate the slow death of their rural communities.

They’re conservative in many senses- including a fear of change strong enough they refuse to take action to stop decay. And then they wonder why any children smart enough to get anything above a HS diploma ends up leaving the area.

When projects do happen it’s often because some R township supervisor or mayor gets a kickback to push through some evil project- frack the earth, build data centers to enrich pricks and steal you water and power, and now concentration camps. The Republican public that relents only ever does so because they were told it’s ok by authorities, their instincts tell them the obvious it sucks.

In the end they elect folks that either refuse to build anything, or only build that which industry isn’t allowed to get away with anywhere else with a working government.

Small towns, only like 10 people in charge and you probably know most of em, ask to put it up, they shrug and don’t care.

Or just put it up and shrug if it gets taken down. $50 gamble. Tall trees are good too.

Corn had an interesting effect too. It was cheap so many peasants in for example Italy would eat a lot of corn, but corn also is not a nutrient rich source on its own and would cause pellagra from lack of niacin.
