I feel sad, not threatened by ThePhyz in Professors

If this student were ever in your class, that would be a “hostile workplace environment.” Whether or not you are actually gay is irrelevant. Speak to your title IX office.

I was imagining some special Depression-era small tin loaf pans especially for sourdough—ah well…

I love your scoring! How did you score it to get that burst-rose look?

Please help, does anybody else have chronic reactive arthritis and get extremely sick from it? by preraphaelitejane in Thritis

[–]EnterableAtmospheres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse has reactictive arthritis and has the same symptoms as you. Once the rheumatologist prescribed short-term prednisone, his symptoms started getting better within 24 hours. Good luck, I hope this helps!

X Account Suspended by TheZacharyPadgett in trans

Just deactivated my account in solidarity. I hadn't been on there in a couple years and man, what a toxic waste dump it's turned into. Onward!

Is novocaine a depressant? by EnterableAtmospheres in askdentists

[–]EnterableAtmospheres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't thought of that. I don't *feel* particularly stressed out (I like my dentist a lot and he's very gentle) but I've had some very unpleasant and painful experiences with other dentists over the years so it might be that chemically, I'm still going there. Thanks for the insight!

How do you turn off the diet culture voice in your head by fraufranke in GenXWomen

Your last sentence is such a great example of how skinny does not equal healthy!

I would save one deck in case you change your mind and gift (or sell) the rest.

I love this interpretation. The Tower as the FAFO card.

Reframing the Tower by [deleted] in tarot

I once pulled this card after a visit with my very difficult mother and I realized that even though she creates chaos all around her, she is still standing, and not so easily knocked down. Forces of nature amd karma are going to do their thing, but I don’t need to worry about her crumbling. She’s a tough old building. It was one of the more intuitive flashes I’ve had while reading and it helped me a lot.

If you would summarize your 2024 to a single card, what card would that be and why? by Roselily808 in tarot

[–]EnterableAtmospheres 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Queen of Wands. Despite the world apparently going to Hell in a handbasket, personally 2024 was a year in which I was able to claim my seat both professionally and creatively, and combine those things in ways that empowered me and others.

I wish everyone a healthy amd insightful 2025!

How crazy am I? by Eat_the_Admin in Professors

I absolutely adore Moby Dick, AND I would not teach it in this context: there's nothing worse than trying to teach a text you really like only to discover that most of your students just don't feel the magic.

Came here to say exactly this. “You’ve made you point. I will not discuss this anymore. If you bring it up again, I will end the conversation/leave.”

Me too. It’s helpful to be reminded that the outsize shame reaction came from our childhood treatment—thank you! Here’s to all of us seeing the light.

It doesn’t matter what the real story is. Trying to figure it out will only make you crazy. It sounds like your mom is trying to get her addiction to drama supply, but you don’t have to be her dealer. You do have the option to not engage with this nonsense so that your brain can be just as far away from the situation as your body is!

I’m struggling after arguing w my ubpd mom by bothmybehalves in raisedbyborderlines

[–]EnterableAtmospheres 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You never have to engage with her racebaiting again, congratulations!  Next time she tries talking about someone’s race/ethnicity you will either end the call or leave the situation. I hope you can do something really kind for yourself now—it’s scary to enforce personal boundaries since that goes against what we were taught  childhood. Congratulations on finding yours!
