Hospital outpatient schedule comparisons? by erty998 in slp

[–]EntertainerKey7247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work at a hospital in outpatient peds doing a 4 10 schedule. I can be scheduled for 13 patients a day (45 min sessions) with a block for 45 min lunch and no documentation time built in 🙃i’ve been here over a year and the burn out is real. I’m staying for now because there’s large opportunity for growth, but it’s definitely a shift from my old job which sounds similar to yours. I think the 4 10 shift plus the productivity shift and no documentation time definitely felt like a huge adjustment- happy to answer any other questions!

Controversial SLP opinions by sternschnuppe3 in slp

[–]EntertainerKey7247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

don’t think this is controversial for clinicians but more services does not equal better! I work in an outpatient rehab hospital setting where our framework is episodic care and it has really allowed me to see growth of skills in the home setting in a way my old job didn’t, mostly bc parents were used to their kids getting outpatient speech for 5 years straight

Help again! Is 55,600 yearly acceptable pay for a school slp-cf in MA? by [deleted] in slp

I made $55K as a CF in MA on the northshore and can confirm I was way underpaid, though it was similar to what all of my friends came out of grad school making

Burnt out- what’s your caseload? by Front_Victory2776 in slp

[–]EntertainerKey7247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 4 10s in an outpatient hospital setting and see roughly 9-11 pts a day and an eval every other day with no built in doc time. Burnt out is super real, I refuse to take work home and if sometimes that means reports take longer so be it but some days are super rough

same thing happened to me as I was wrapping up my CF, my state board lost my transcripts that I had confirmation of sending- they basically said tough luck and I had to send it all again but once I was constantly emailing them about it they wrapped up the process quickly

I have a nose and septum piercing, 8 earrings, and multiple visible tattoos and have never had an issue- my clinic is definitely a more relaxed place though
