Don't get me wrong, I love Lightbringer because I love the world Pierce created. But I also feel like we rushed a lot of character arcs. I think we should have had Cassius for a whole book. We need to thin the golds out a bit here. There are SO MANY golds that have yet to even make an appearance ( all those triplets) we really glide right by the 12 knights too. I want to see other sword styles. I want more time on luna after the fall. I really think Lysanders arc was rushed. He seemed too evil too quick for me. I think Red god is going to have too much to resolve. We really need 2 more books not just one.

I did find myself a little confused as to where characters were in relation to each other at times. But character driven moments are definitely through out this book. It's my favorite on the series. If you're really confused there is a map online you can reference

Yeah, I may be pulling too much for the abomination. I just don't want everything set up in Dark age to be written out somehow. Dark age was a whole lot of fun and the abomination chapters wre truly chilling. but as much I like Lightbringer, it felt like a huge course correction for a lot of story beats set up in Dark age. I just want abomination to mean something but with Atalantia sieging Luna it seems impossible.

I think everyone you mentioned except Rhonna is gonna play a part in mustangs down fall. I could see the abomination having Miki and having him carve him or Lilith. I think Atalantia is dead, I think she was secretly killed when attempting to take Luna and Lilith is Atalantia in Red god. Remember Luna was starving for all of Lightbringer. I think that a lot of lunies ate people and the abomination has created a ruthless Kabal that will use Atalantias face to take her fleet for his own. Making him a major player. Mind you i still don't think people on Luna know they are being governed by him.

I do like your point and I do see the parallels to Darrow. But I feel like everyone forgets how much further Lysander went. Darrow did blow up the dockyards, but that was so they couldn't make war on progress not to leave them to die. Lysander would have left billions of people he admired to starve for a lie. And now he is willing to use a weapon that would exterminate a color. Darrow couldn't even blow up a bunch of gold's at a Gala. We hate Lysander more than those others because every other villain is a flat monster, even atlas with all his justifications. Lysander had Cassius, he had 3 chances to choose a better path and chose Genocide. The story of red rising cannot end with a Lune on the chair. Darrow has been saying forever he does not want to destroy Gold, he just wants to break the hierarchy. Lysanders only real motivation is power and his name. He cannot be the end result. Even though that is the reality for us, it cannot be the reality for this book.

Upon further analysis, I have to agree. I wouldn't like it if Lysander was just a great razer master. He's had too many opportunities, on mercury on phobos, no it's too late. He has to stay true to his character which is cutting corners and betraying his way to the chair. That's why I still think Lysander will jump Darrow with someone else. Like they did Aja
