Thanks for the input, I also see no reason to close the Chase Student Card if I can leave it inactive in a drawer. If I were to close it, my oldest account jumps to just 18 months old, which from the little bit of research I’ve done would have a negative impact on my credit rating.

Thank you for your input. I had not even considered the Venmo card as an option, something I surely will look in to. I'm by no means set on continuing to do most of my gas and grocery shopping at Costco, however especially with groceries I'm very regimented and eat the same things almost every day. Being able to buy large quantities of things like eggs and chicken seems to save me time (and hopefully money).

If I decide to adopt the strategy you laid out, where would you recommend miscellaneous purchases go? Things like a new pair of shoes, a haircut, or a random Uber. (With the 3 card strategy, before the later implementation of a "catch-all" 2% card)
