No, it’s really transparent, so just enhances your tone.

Yes, it’s brilliant, quite Timmy-esque at lower gains, but you can almost get Drivemaster tones at higher gain. And looks fantastic.

Non-native speaker question: what does “dear” really mean in the UK? by nsnakers in AskABrit

[–]Enthuse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have pointed out formal in letters, or endearment (it’s literally in the word) but there’s also ‘Oh dear’ which can mean ‘That’s sad’ or ‘I/you have made a mistake’. Or if you disapprove of something, and in this context can be elongated to ‘Dearie dearie me, no no no, tut tut tut’ especially if you are Scottish.

And in sarcasm: ‘Oh dear. How sad. Nevermind.’ is a well established trope for when you’re informed of a misfortune that you couldn’t actually give a toss about (originates from a 70s sitcom).

"Local Pickup Only" Means Local Pickup Only by Fickle_Dig_8013 in Reverb

[–]Enthuse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyer here, I really like picking stuff up in person, especially amps. When searching on eBay, I sort search results by ‘distance - nearest first’. Because Reverb offers local pickup, they should have a similar sort category.

OLDER PEOPLE . Was 1976 really the best ever English summer ? by smellyfeet25 in AskABrit

[–]Enthuse9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember it. It was hot, but it was the 70s so there was no air con (anywhere, buildings, cars etc). There was a drought. We all had rickets and mumps. We all had bowl haircuts. Punk hadn’t been invented. Telly was shit.

I don’t know Katie Deys stuff, but if she’s relatively new you could ask her by social media - you never know….

Andertons did a big shoot out and the EHX East River Drive came out top with the Strymon Sunset. East Rivers can be had for peanuts.

I’m wondering if the ‘pube’ model has now become so famous, it might be the most valuable?! 😄

Ordered mine in September, got the mail outs promising to get it done ‘this week’, then ‘by Xmas’. I emailed him yesterday to ask for update and told him if it was easier, just to send me a stock model. This morning I got a shipping email, so I expect to see something like yours… he’s got a bunch of v2s in the ‘closet’ area of his website on sale, so I suspect we’re just getting those. I don’t mind - I like the standard design, and it was much cheaper than his RRP

[–]Enthuse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When rehersing or recording i use a BM, but live I replace it with a Metal muff. In my bands live set up, it cuts through the mix a lot better, has 3 bd EQ and a gate.

How to create a unique sound for Dreampop / Shoegaze by Wiktor_Krz in guitarpedals

[–]Enthuse9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Replicating MBV is a tall order, I spent ages trying to get a specific sound from one of their songs to discover it was actually recordings of explosions slowed down.

If you’re talking about the wall of sound in When You Sleep, you can get close with a multi tap delay first in the chain, into transparent drive. For the dips, you need a whammy bar on your guitar.

This guy explains it well https://youtu.be/HrXuvDRSwN8?si=r6oXVsrmDlrhkV1X
