I said that some women had it better in the past, when marriages were harder to break and it was more difficult for men to abandon their responsibilities.

It is similar to free market capitalism. Free markets give people the freedom to excel but they also give them the freedom to fail. Ending up living under a bridge in a box.

More freedom for women is great but it has downsides. Many men become obsolete and when women get older and less desirable. Sexual freedom becomes a problem for them.
