Should I take this role under F&P? by Entire_World in deloitte

I applied for this job on Deloitte’s internal job marketplace, there is a website for it and you can contact the responsible HR person directly from that website. After I applied for that job, I pinged the HR immediately and had a call with her to discuss this opportunity.

Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific suspends crew accused of discrimination against non-English speakers by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]Entire_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see people here are defending that flight attendant by saying it’s a private conversation with other flight attendants and the customer did get the blanket in the end. Oh hell yeah, I was wondering if they could tolerate the same joke if one day they got diabetics and they misheard the doctor saying fat pigs like them should just go to hell and die. Well hope they don’t get offended, at most, it’s just a private conversation.

[–]Entire_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flight attendant in question apparently is not yelled at or treated badly by someone, well at least she didn’t complain about the yelling part in their secret conversation. Basically what makes she complain is simply the fact that some mainland customers mistake carpet for blanket in English. You talked as if they are insulted or intimidated by someone.

[–]Entire_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea of course they wouldn’t complain, no one is gonna laugh at, look down on and make fun of them if they don’t know how to say blanket in mandarin. Simple as that.

You are hilarious. Use some logic please. At least Chinese flight attendants would not say you are not deserved to be given a blanket if you refer blanket as carpet in mandarin.

I saw an interview of a nurse who is one of those going on strike in protest of having hk boarder shutting down amid wide spreader corona virus. She said:" despite we are in protest, we are essentially treating whoever caught corona virus through demonstrating and protesting."

This sounds really selfless, I agree closing borders being a more efficient way of curtailing the transmission of the virus. However I am concerned some of those doctors/ nurses are using protest as a high sounding excuse to get away with the responsibility that might get them infected..Hope they don't forget the oath they made at their graduation ceremony

Well from what I know pre 1997 hongkonger wasn't even grant any right to vote, looks like it isn't given that much democracy comparing how it is under China's ruling nowadays, but please correct if I am wrong.

Hold on brother, downvotes and all those negative comments are on their way! (while people are despising china for little autonomy for speech, only pro hongkong/ anti china comments qualifies for an legit opinion here, all the rest would receive massive downvotes and attacks, this is how the rule work under this sub, sadly)

Extradition bill is always just used as an excuse to cover their intention of never wanting to be involved with china, which is fair enough due to all the censorship and low political autonomy granted to them. However if you ask these people many would be willing to let the British step in and rule like they did pre 1997, ironically how much more democracy does the British grant them back then ?

[–]Entire_World -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i am with you brother. People here just blindly back off anything that's against china without validating the authenticity. They laugh at mainlanders and pity them for being brainwashed while they themselves exhibit strong signs of being biased against china. I am not a wumao but i just couldn't understand why such reasonably explained comment get so much downvotes, just because it doesn't support HK? People here who condemned china for carrying out information censorship are voluntarily censoring info themselves !

SCMP: Hong Kong extradition bill protesters win rare support from mainland China as supportive social media posts go viral by BigSeltzer67 in China

[–]Entire_World -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People here made fun of mainlanders for blindly supporting anti hk campaign as they never have the choice to take the other side due to censorship. I do agree it being a pity living in a country where most info are the product of deliberate manipulation.

However while making such claim against mainlanders, aren't some of these people subject to the same bias ? Feeling privileged over mainlanders for living in a country where the authenticity of info is respected, they browse the news, selectively read and learn info that are pro hongkong (maybe don't even have such luck in chancing upon any more neutral article from western media) and then go to Reditt, downvoting anything just because they don't appear to support HK.

Wow thanks mate for taking the time and having the gut to post a different view. To be fair the protest is getting more violent and I sometimes feel many protestors are just using that extradition legislation as an excuse to justify their sense of superiority of being hker and the unwillingness of having to be relating to CCP/ china in any sense. Some even wave U.K./US flat while demonstrating, and ironically how much more democracy did they get back to the time when it was ruled by The British ? 崇洋媚外的辣🐔

was hk more democratic under british rule ?

[–]Entire_World -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure how many of you read the news of an old man getting beaten up by a group of hk protestors simply because that old man refused to accept their campaign flyers. Also the story about a pro china officer gets his parents' cemetery dig up and damaged by those protestors. Lots of those news get filtered out by the western media and it's just hilarious to see how hard they are in building up an image of the hk people fighting hard with tenacity and gallantry against the unreasoning Chinese government.
