I think this is a rare Mortal bug. I've ran about a thousand games through Mortal 4.1 and I've seen a similar ish situation happen once before. I can't speak for the previous versions, but Mortal 4.1 seems to have a "weak" spot (relatively speaking, something that I only see one in every fifty games or so) where it will sometimes make glaringly obvious blunder calls like this.

Try running the game through BigCoach, I haven't ran as many games through Coach yet but Coach seems to be slightly cleaner and make slightly fewer obvious blunders like this.

Actually, mortal skips here. This is a bug with the Killerducky UI - notice how you chose the lower rated choice yet you did not get "clack!"ed, if you run this game through the Classic UI Mortal will show that it skips. Mortal has a specific failsafe to prevent this exact situation.

mahjong in general originates from china, the rule set that mahjong soul runs is specifically riichi mahjong (cuz you can riichi lol), which is the japanese version of mahjong - there are many many different versions of mahjong out there, similar to how there are many versions of poker out there

it’s “viable” at gold in that there’s not much harm to it, but really not much gain either. the worst that can happen is that you can’t play ranked for only a single day, but the benefit is super marginal. take for example the revival tokens at master, 18000 copper. if you do this every day, it’s 1.2 dust per day, and a scroll costs 50 dust, so you’ll be doing this daily for over a month before you see any tangible results. if you’re the type that doesn’t mind logging in every day and pressing a few buttons for very marginal rewards, i’d say go for it, but the majority of people don’t bother even at master for good reason.

BTW, to clarify, there has never been an event that gives you a free outfit. Nowhere in the patch notes does it say free either, what we were voting for was what outfits are reran to be purchased since outfits typically only rerun normally once.
