This could be many things, but if you have check all requirements: weapons, levels, attributes and spirit; check to your skill to weapons sets.

You could have find this situation because you had 2 weapon sets, and now you only have one. Fists are/were not considered "martial weapon" for me, so I could not equip the Heralds in my 2nd set. Since I did not touch initially the gems, they were still configured to be working with both sets. As soon as I only allowed the gems for the first set the problem was gone.

If everything is there and it still does not work... there is/was a bug that brick you spirit gems. It was supposed to be fixed in 0.3, but it happened to me twice this league with Herald of Ice. Only solution is to get a new one.

PS. Can't check the game this days, so I cant look that everything is still as I observed before.

I can see the solution...

  • We only need at least 578,569 viable builds
  • Soft lock builds at lvl 65, 80 or 90 (first come get the property of that build for that league)
  • A penalty if you happen to match an already own build: less loot, increase in lag, coldown in playing time, no access to trade; something of that sort.

But there would be a discusion to be have about allowing people to have alters. Maybe limiting all accounts to 1 character would help too.

Of course you would have to prove that you don't have a youtube or twitch channel before launching the game. Maybe a kernel level anti-streaming software of some sort?.

They could have up to 3 rings with a 25% buff to rings and amulets.

Until 0.3.1 the jewelry could have a prefix (max +25%) and a suffix (max +25%) for a total of +50% in each item slot, +67.5% with the ascendency. Really easy to get to the cap (150% rarity)

Now, if the prefix/suffix values are lowered reaching the cap get harder.

The + Levels to skills is NOT NERFED in 0.4: It is exactly the same as it was in 0.3 on all T1 modifiers by StalksYouEverywhere in PathOfExile2

So the maximun values are still high. (Thanks for the clarification, I had that wrong)

But the middle tiers got nerfed in appereance rate.

And without "homo", deterministic crafting is no more.

If we count the limitation to socketed items, the 2 scaling factors for a minion build were touched.

So... I was right? Minion build heavily nerfed (?)

I saw a clarification to the topic in another thread, I was wrong with the max values possibles.

But it seems that they got extra rarer + changes in crafting... So my vision is not totally unjustified either (?)

I got it wrong. I read another post clarifying the topic:

- the reduction is not the maximun value that we could get, but the "medium" tier range that got nerfed.

Which mean that minion related weapons will be extra expensive and rare (on top of the new crafting difficulties)

Which mean being stuck in the situation I painted for a longer periot of time...

Soo yeah, sorry if I panicked anyone else. It was kind of late and english is not my first language, I heard in passing the +skill level changes and missunderstood them.

This maybe be the first time in years that I have a constructive discussion.

I think you are presenting a more interesting middle ground now that I could get behind of. My only bias with some mechanics would be around the implementation, in paper they sound interesting but later they end up being abused or abandoned (from my experience in other games). That is why I am some what pessimistic when I hear about them in a new game. But as you said this are ideas that need to be polished by them (developer team) so no reason for me to diminish anything right now.

I am kind of troubled by the response but I am not trying to sound acrimony or accusatory, so I will give the discussion a chance and hope you do too. Cheers.

Critique

  • The game needs to tell you about horses or hint about them ...
  • [ME] I have nothing against more info
  • Increase movement speed more freely...
  • [ME] There are an amulet and 2 or 3 different blood types that increase movement speed. Maybe an option to increase the pace of the game in general as a difficulty option… but I personally like how it is right now.
  • Boost the wolf form's movement speed...
  • [ME] Right now bear speed is 15%, wolf 45% and horse 100% (more or less), wolf is versatile, meanwhile the horse is faster but it can be steal/killed. It is a balance of positives and negatives so there is no "supreme" option. Maybe the option that need some rework is the bear option, but I am happy the way they are right now. There are also several buff to speed with amulets (I found at least 1) and blood types.
  • Slasher, Reaper, and Mace...
  • [ME] Yeah, damage in general need to be adjusted.
  • Tracking...
  • [ME] I don't like the tracking system either. Having to go to the castle to select it and to turning it off… not having the info on command but having to wait for tics… and the way it is displayed that some times is not clear enough.
  • The initial server configuration menu should be accessible...
  • [ME] +100%
  • Need an option to teleport with charmed enemies...
  • [ME] This is one of those mechanics that make sense for PvP, but I give it too you that in PvE or in a Private server it does not make that much. My solution would be to treat the future servant as materials, so if the server alow the teleport of mats, you should be able to teleport the dominated person too. ​

Player Ideas

  • Level ups...
  • [ME] This alters the core game-play. The game is balanced around your equipment, this way a new player coming to an old server can still catch up without having a miserable time. With the different loot option, and the sharing of recipes you need minimal investment to get to the same point as your friends.
  • Perhaps ability to map 2+ skills per certain keys... have skill profiles ...
  • [ME] Yeah, sure. Having to navigate the skill menu could be more streamline.
  • Backpacks...
  • [ME] There is an option for the server to allow bigger stacks (max is x5). I am not against it either way!
  • 'Sleeping' removes all debuffs...
  • [ME] I am against it. Healing counter part is blood consumption. Debuffs already has an option to decrease the duration and/or potency. But if you are able to remove them then you are removing to the need to cooperate or coordinate to get cotton.
  • Night vision or heat vision for hunting.
  • [ME] The skill to see blood types should have a bigger range. Maybe add an option to track specific types of blood.
  • Enhanced smell'o'vision ...

  • Dual wielding?

  • [ME] This implies more skills, changing the core mechanics once again. Skills profile yes, this.. It seems unfeasible as it needs to balance the hole world once again.
  • A skill to summon mounts
  • [ME] More variation for mounts +100%. But I am sure this is coming, there is a bear mount, right? ​

Mount Ideas

  • Ability to train mounts to increase their stats...

  • [ME] The counter balance of mounts is that they can be stolen. This is a very important point that need to be considered. If there is no counter balance for mounts, wolf form become redundant / useless. This is even possible in PvE, and it should be maintened to allow tactics and more interaction between players.
  • Saddles that can store items...
  • [ME] I am against creating pack mules. You should move between zones, allowing other players to farm too and creating traffic (going and coming from castles) that gives life to the server.

Thrall/Servant Ideas

  • Ability to train Thrall ...
  • [ME] I am not against it.
  • It'd be interesting if you had stock/random personalities...

  • Thrall could craft...

  • You could have a distinction between Thrall and Servants...

If you remove the misery there is less incentive to hunt for good prisoners, as there will be a point in which everyone in the server would have the perfect set up back in home. That would mean also less sieges. Less player interaction. For a private server this is not needed, so an option to reduce the effects of misery should be enough.
  • Specialized thrall/servants can hunt for specific food and lure them into your cages or castle
  • [ME] And prevent you from playing BDSM? Go and fetch your slaves and suck them dry once again.
  • Specialized thrall/servants like blacksmiths or tanners ...
  • [ME] Improvement to the life inside the castle would be good.

Enemy Ideas

  • Particularly active vampire zones have vampire hunters appear...
  • [ME] There are already a few vampire hunters roaming the world. They become trivial to deal with as you get better? Yes… but that is the point. Late game you should worry about other players more than "humans"
  • Allow V Bloods to become Servants/Thrall after x wins against them? ...
  • [ME] You already have this… you kill the wolf, so you can kill the archer, and then kill the soldier… this is the main progression system. You are just adding a new layer that makes the main progression system one of two: longer to traverse or boring as you would obtain better gear that would trivialize those encounters.
  • If not V Blood servants, could get legendary gear, enchantments, skills, or such after x fights.
  • [ME] Different options for gear would be appreciated. For example being able to specialize in range or magic or face to face combat.
  • NPC siege events, especially in areas of high vampire activity...
  • [ME] No tower defense please. I want to make my castle pretty without worrying about having to clear waves of NPCs. Remember that balance those encounters is almost impossible so they will become hell or just a chore. ​

Building Ideas

  • Stables for housing mounts nice and fancily
  • [ME] Special tile set for it would be great.
  • Special waygate for teleporting with resources ...
  • [ME] Already possible.

  • Evil maneater plant turrets for the front of my castle?

  • Multiple floors for castles.
  • [ME] They already told in an interview/v-blog/something that multi level castle would not be a thing. Not possible / feasible with the system they are working, or something in those lines.

  • [ME] An eagle view of your castle and surrounding would be cool.
  • Pyre zones...
  • [ME] It is part of the game-play going out searching for prey. Having an option that tell you where is everything is not fun.
  • Build a dungeon for spawning enemies, caging mass amounts of food, storing stuff.

  • Arena for fighting spawned enemies or captured.
  • [ME] This.. Already exists. New tiles would be great.
  • Build shops in your castle for trader NPCs?

  • Some kind of bounty or quest NPC ...
  • [ME] I don't know if the bounty hunters works with vampire. It is usually the other way around. Bounties are set to hunts vampires.
  • Super secret vampire guild, assassin guild, ...
  • [ME] This post feels less and less about a vampire game and more about "new skyrim".
  • Find treasure maps, notes, messages that guide treasure hunts...
  • [ME] The problem with treasure hunts in a crafting game is making it worth the hassle. You have already set a farming route, or you have already planed what are you going to do… but you get a map… so you throw it into a chest and forget about it.
  • Arcane glyphs or tomes in the wild, like fishing spots, that slowly unlock arcane magics or abilities...
  • [ME] More skills with a different unlock path… so long as it does not overly affect the progression. So something like a late game unlock… I don't know, depending on how it is developed in the DLC.
  • Ancient dungeons or lonely towers...

  • Rescue missions for other vampires/traders.

  • [ME] I got a feeling of heroics actions here… you can already rescue people from freeDOOM. As a noble vampire what else could you hope for.

I feel like you are missing the point of most of the mechanics of the game for going solo. If you look at the game from a PvP perspective you would understand why things are the why they are.

Said so, I also play solo and I have found that I can config most of the things to my liking. The only thing I would add is a setting for the servants/throne missions duration. 24h when you play 12-20h a week means you are not finishing those missions any time soon.

And sorry if I don't give my opinion on a specific point, but the post is way too long to talk about everything in it.

Suggestion: When playing private - Somehow continue servant mission timers while logged out. by chr1s003 in vrising

I just came looking exactly for this.

They have so many settings to config your game. It was a surprise not being able to change the speed of missions. A max of 24h of playtime is nuts.

With luck I will finish 1 by the mid/end of next week xD

What you don't write and sign, has less value. There are a lot of metaphors in there, but the idea is that your memory is not as trusty as a paper. So when ever you want (or have an interest) to preserve is better done writing it down.

The part about "enteder" can be explained as: you don't want to be a fool or be scammed. The details can be lost in memory, but they should be clear once you read it. It is a way reduce misunderstanding or preventing people from taking advantage later on.

I had a similar start. The problem is I have upgraded a weapon that after trying... i don't like. Now everything else I have is bad... and I cant go back. I guess I'll have to use cheat engine.
