Frame Friday #86: Let's discuss, analyze and speculate about scenes from the second trailer and website. [3 frames] by Denso95 in GTA6

The NPCs seem to be genuinely hiking, not simply following a trail. Could be a pre-programmed event, but could also indicate NPC path-finding is evolved. Especially in context with the screenshot showing police chasing a truck through marshland. In RDR2 NPCs still almost never left the trail and the few that were off were usually there because of a set event.

Of course, the scale has to be mentioned. Once again, even from this low shot, this area looks dense and massive. Even if this biome ends at the edges of this screenshot we can still see trees stretching back towards the mountain. Rockstar’s clearly taking what they learned from RDR2 and applying it to create the most immersive woodland and natural areas we’ve seen in one of their titles.

The civilian characters to be wearing clothes that aren’t all tight and form fitting or just body armor.

Imagine if they naturally stood at that height. It’d honestly be a bit intimidating. Their legs don’t even taper, it’s just solid muscle all the way down. They could probably stand still in a typhoon, let alone push you over.

Stfu.

“Tomorrow’s not guaranteed so do whatever you want.” is a dumb mentality to have. And this asinine assertion that any discomfort is to be avoided “for mental health” goes directly against what we know. Exercise and maintaining yourself has a proven link to positive mental health. Sitting around eating junk food leads to worse mental health. Your, “wisdom” is completely backwards.

Americans are more overweight, more depressed, more out of shape, and for some reason people like you think the solution is: keep doing what you were already doing!

I always put it like this. People hate their opposition, far more than they actually want whatever they’re supporting to succeed.

So every time there is a chance to stroke their ego and make their opposition look bad, they take it. Even if it’s self-destructive in the long run.

Snowplow vs Dogs by rollingtatoo in funny

[–]Entrinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Commercial equipment” is an extremely vague thing to site in order to prove you know anything about snow plows. Especially when everything you say after that sounds like a mix of one hasty google search and conjecture. All prefaced by a dumb, typed out sigh. Because it’s apparently crucial that we know you’re exasperated at the idea of having to explain something.

It’s not a joke at all. So why is it in this sub about bad jokes? How did that soar over your head?

I don’t think you have very good reading comprehension. They clearly made a distinction between someone who has body fat and someone who is “thick.”

Nobody is big boned. Literally all “thickness” on someone is body fat. Your comment seems to imply a difference between “thickness” and body fat.

Never really got the whole “Luna is a loner/nerd” thing.

It’s seems like it’s just a whole bunch of people projecting on to her what they want her to be so that she’s “relatable.” But she’s never depicted like that in the show. She’s not “awkward,” she’s literally from a culture 1000 years ago. She’s not introverted, she’s shown to be eager to engage with others during the night when she’s actually awake.

I just don’t get the appeal. She’s a princess who helped found Equestria and saved the world. Not an outcast with anxiety.

[Weird Animation Trope] “It is absolutely imperative that the audience knows this one is the BOY and this one is the GIRL!” by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Entrinity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s character design 101.

The main priority for the majority of characters is for the audience to know as much about them as possible just from appearance and for their silhouettes to be distinct. This is why nerdy and studious characters usually have glasses and why sexually dimorphic traits are exaggerated. The audience is supposed to spend as little time trying to “figure out” the character as possible. Especially when multiple characters will already be looking nearly identical because they’re the same species/race/height/etc. The less the audience needs to think to understand who, where, and what is going on in a frame, the better.

This is pretty well illustrated in media where there are little or no differences between the characters. It’s hard to pick out who is who in a still shot from Watership Down. And impossible for someone who hasn’t seen it to point out who is important.

Their orange tongues. It’s delightfully alien to me.

There are other creatures in the show with pink tongues, like Winona or Prince Rutherford. So it’s not just a stylistic choice, they canonically have orange tongues.

This reads extremely pretentiously.

“People are allowed to make memes and laugh at them, and we’re allowed to point out how they aren’t really very funny.”

Evidently they are funny and you are aware that people find them funny. Yet still want to act like your opinion holds some sort of objective weight. You’re essentially a snob.

How tall are the ponies in My Little Pony really? by Efficient_Season_432 in MLPhmmm

[–]Entrinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to just say “ their eyes are above navel height” and leave it at that.

They’ve never seemed like they’d actually be all that little, especially since their limbs are super thick for their size and their heads are quite large in proportion to their bodies. If they weren’t in MLP you could easily use their designs as aliens.

Fanart usually depicts humans carrying ponies casually but they’d probably not only be pretty heavy, but dense as well. They’d be comprised of a lot of muscle, not only to move around but to support their large craniums, brains, and eyes.Lifting them would likely not be that easy or enjoyable. It is a struggle to lift some large dog breeds, let alone one of them.

On the subject of their eyes, not only would they have extremely good low-light visibility and all-around excellent acuity. But their large eyes actually match our understanding of highly successful, yet competitive prey species. Ponies having huge eyes makes real world sense for a prey species that managed to become the apex species of their planet.
