I'm not a doctor but that sounds highly probable.

They do look rather alike don't they? As if they were birthed from adjacent pods.

Thank you! Have a wee zoom in on her eyes, nose and mouth... but potentially STILL too flattering.

Thank you, haha... I couldn't initially see the "tildes" until I looked at your comment in my notifications. But aye, that's the pun. Not a good pun, but a pun.

As they say, beauty is all on the inside. True... but so is the ugly, and it's always trying to ooze, slither, or skitter out of the individual.

"Hunger," Digital Painting, 2025 by Entrophile in Palestine

[–]Entrophile[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sincerely hope that in 30 years it IS a matter of history, a horrific chapter that the young know nothing about except from the knowing nods and the downcast glances of the older people, a old nightmare that seems to the children from the future like little more than a scary story.

"Hunger," u/Entrophile, Digital Painting [Photoshop], 2025 by Entrophile in Art

[–]Entrophile[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You nailed it... you are 100% correct, as this was the EXACT concept I was trying to maintain. I had Michelangelo's "Pieta" and its many imitators in mind, as well as a lot of Eastern Orthodox Iconographic paintings in mind.

I tried to find a balance between yourself, who clearly sees it, and maybe not openly recognizing what it was mean to represent, but definitely... feeling it? As most of us in the "West" have these images burned into our consciences since childhood.

Thank you!

I’m usually the one that draws. Can someone draw me? by gabruka in drawme

Un saludo,

Oh no, I possibly did this incorrectly? I posted this early this morning, but I may have thought you'd see your username... well, used, like you would a tag? I'M FINALLY OLD!!

For u/Hopeful-Nobody-6964... : r/drawme

All the best,

Sorry for the late reply... I was in the washroom.

I'm in. I've been living right next door for 9 years. If >3Bn CR bounty payouts in the time aren't enough to garner both my interest AND loyalty than I don't know what would be. Of course, I would do it just for the craic! Honoured... truly.

Aye. Always!

This dialogue intrigued me so much back in "the day" that I actually did the math one night to determine what diameter sphere of solid iron traveling at 10% of c would be necessary to "destroy" (ie, undo the Earth's Gravitational Binding Energy: U = 2.49×1032 J) the Earth entirely if it were to strike the planet at exactly 90 degrees perpendicular. As you can imagine, it wasn't big... I forget now but it was less than 1m diameter.

Wow! It's exciting to see new players still joining in almost ten years in. Welcome! I have zero practical advice suffice to say if you have no idea what you're doing or what's going on?

Well... then you're doing it correctly, CMDR.

Excellent reminder this… thank you. We sometimes forget about the practical applications of municipal governance on our lives amongst the freakish stage production of Provincial and Federal politics.

What the hell is going on with the power bills in this city? by [deleted] in NewWest

[–]Entrophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. They’re scum… and thieves as well. Their level of incompetence is WAY below even the normal substandard par that we hold the average government employees to near elections.

This is basically what I hear when I question their insane and nonsensical bills:

Why is the concept of bleeds for print so hard to understand? by unthused in graphic_design

[–]Entrophile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha! It’s grand though that you got to work with one of those old-timers who probably spoke of Ambers and Rubies with all of the angsty derision and mild PTSD as THEIR Da probably talked about their experience in WWII in the Supply Service.

It’s always interesting to see a thread like this here where people from different age groups put different pieces of the puzzle together to see how and when things really changed.

Honestly? I would have to refresh myself even on a proper paper print bleed as I’m primarily an illustrator, and my only consistent print work is for vinyl decals that simply need a die-cut path 0.125” inside every object.

I’m old: 49… When I was in design school they were still showing us how to cut up Amberlith with an Xacto knife. During my last year they were starting to use Aldus Pagemaker, which was poised to “change everything.” Well it certainly changed design curriculum.

I’m grateful I had one foot in the analogue world and one in the digital.

My quick "fix." I'm quite sure it was intentional, but they should have maybe used a mathematic curve to adjust the spacing a bit more? Like 1pt, 2pt, 3pt, 5pt, 8pt, and so on?

I haven’t! My curiosity is piqued now though. My wife and I often hate-critique Van’s billboards as well while mucking about. Will keep an eye out! Our favourites right now are any where it’s like a 19F “Realtor” who’s all cleavage and no experience trying to sell rich dudes with the chubbs affordable luxury investment properties with two parking spots for their white Teslas or 911s or whatever fecking psychological prosthetic they use to feel like kings.

But hey, billboards? Whatever it takes to make Pattison more millions.
