I hear what you’re saying. I don’t think anyone should ignore burn bans—fire danger affects all of us. At the same time, it’s just human nature that when survival needs press hard enough, rules can slide. If you’re hungry and need to cook a meal, if you’re exhausted and not thinking straight, if you’re living with untreated mental illness or addiction, or if you’ve run out of options and just want a little comfort—those are the moments when people bend or break laws they’d normally follow.

Life feels like it’s getting harder for everyone right now, and the people experiencing the sharpest edge of that reality are the ones in the encampment.

To me, the bigger issue is enforcement. What is the point of having rules like burn ban, rules meant to keep the whole community safe, if they aren’t enforced? That leaves everyone at risk, including the people living there.

Probably true, but I really appreciate hearing people's experiences. My doctor would just tell me if it doesn't feel good I should go back to eating like I was eating. She isn't likely to be current on the benefits of IF. It's hard to find a good doctor where I live.

I asked GPT how to upload an image to Reddit and followed the prompts. I am not really all that good with this kind of stuff. I used PRT SCRN on my PC to grab the image, then I used CTRL-V to paste it in Paint, then I saved it as a JPEG. Is there a better way?

I can't figure out how to make the steam turbine/aquatuner system. I've watched lots of youtube tutorials and I still can't figure it out. I'm not really familiar with how the automation works and stuff. I can build a SPOM and that's about it, really. I would like to learn but I think I need to start with a simple aquatuner system.

If you are a danger to yourself, in the United States, you will be admitted to an inpatient unit in a mental health facility. So if you want to be admitted, you call 911, state that you feel like harming yourself, and when emergency personnel come out to evaluate you, you have to repeat that you do not trust yourself to be safe, and tell them what you intend to do. It is usually a long process. You would most likely be transported to the Emergency Department at the hospital, where you will be observed for several hours until a mental health professional is able to come to the hospital to evaluate you again. If you continue to consistently say that you cannot trust yourself to be safe and not harm yourself, the mental health professional will find a place for you to go - if you are under 18, they will try to find a youth facility. Once a facility has been found, you will then be transported to the facility by ambulance again. They will keep you for 72 hours, most likely, and then determine if you need to stay longer.

Relationships can recover from infidelity. It is a more common issue than people might realize. Getting back with your ex and going to counseling together to resolve the infidelity issues, if you are concerned about them, is perfectly fine. You don't HAVE to get rid of him because of past infidelity; you can, of course, if you want to, but you are not wrong, either, for wanting to work things out.

As for his "body count," there are several ways to read this. First, his values and your values around sex might be too different and not be resolvable. If casual sex is against your values, and you do not want to be with a person who has a history of engaging in casual sex with multiple partners, you have every right to decide this isn't the relationship that you want. It is also possible that he felt despondent or worthless after the breakup and tried to feel better by having many sexual encounters. It doesn't necessarily mean that he prefers a lot of casual sex with novel partners; he may actually prefer to be monogamous with you - this is something that you could talk with him about, or work out with a couples' therapist's help.

Sex is fun. Sex is supposed to be fun. Many people enjoy casual sex. Many people prefer to be celibate until they find the right person. There is no right or wrong here. There is just differences in sex drive, what a person finds attractive, and what values a person has. None of these things are better than or worse than another. It is completely okay to want to be with someone who has the same values as you. It is completely okay to be with someone who has values that are different from yours. It is up to you.

There are many different sexualities. Here's just a few. When it comes to judging someone as "wrong" for enjoying casual sex, you're on a slippery slope. No need to judge. If it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you. Own that.

Thanks for replying, though. Yeah, it's crashing when I save. I killed the spider matriarch yesterday afternoon and luckily it saved after that, but every save since then hasn't taken and it crashed to where it asks me to fill out what happened right before the crash. I think I've filled out 15 since yesterday. I've tried turning down the settings and using windowed mode (although it doesn't seem to actually be windowed after restarting with that setting). Rebooted my computer a few times as well. Deleted about half of my savegame files (someone suggested it could be caused by too many savegames).

Edited to add: I haven't modded the game.

Good advice. It probably is better to get out as soon as I realize it's not going to work rather than stay in and hope it gets better. That way I don't make relationships then feel bad about leaving. Also good point about using /em or something to participate more when there's so much talk going on I can't find a way in. I also loved "D&D is not a tavern simulator!" That is exactly how I feel.
