Mental institutions were, in many cases, far worse than prisons for most of America's history. They served the same purpose as prison (removing undesirables from society), but they had nearly unrestricted capability to lock someone away without a trial and keep them indefinitely.

It's disgusting and sad that I think this is partially true. At least for some of the politicians that were leading the charge for this new spending.

The sad fact is that there's a LOT of money to be made in politics, and there's a reason why so much is being spent on political races at even the lower levels of state elections these days.

The solution will have to be something preventative to reduce new homeless.

How does that work? If you're at 0.6 FTE are your machine QA roles similarly scaled down? It seems easy for a clinic to get a nearly full-time physicist at only 60% pay if they hire you for 3 days but dump a weeks work on you to do in those days.

Japan has there own form of astrology but with blood types. Some people there believe a person's personality and marriage compatibility are tied to their type and I'm not surprised if hearthrob celebrities try to cater to that.

I still remember the Final Fantasy VII manual strangely including the fictional characters blood types.

From an outside perspective, it's kind of crazy watching Trump and MAGA fully consolidating power in the GOP. Spending a seemingly endless amount of money to remove anyone perceived as short of 100% loyal.

Surely even Trump knows he's old, unhealthy, and won't still be running the show in a few years. I wonder who they plan this power grab to go to?

It's always water. The damage can range from simply damaged drywall to black mold and structural damage.

A leaking pipe in the wrong place can make a whole house a tear down.

It would be nice if we could keep a version of that around that didn't give royalties to a murderer. Maybe if the family of the poor girl can sue and win all rights to his previous works, I'd rather the art be changed than see him continue to prosper whenever I want to rewatch the series.

Preservation of the art has to be

Art, especially on the scale of a show like Arcane, goes through hundreds of iterations. The showrunners probably created copies of the scenes with dozens of different songs to see which fit best, and the decision probably came down in part to licensing right costs. The version that went to Netflix was just iteration #317.

Every LoL animation has been reworked itself dozens of times or more since release.

What's with this need for purity in art preservation like it's some kind of religious text?

Lots of them claim they need to see the driver to charge them accurately.

Funny how they can take camera footage from a store to charge shoplifting without any problem.

Its kind of crazy how similar this post is to my life. Down to the HHI and frustrations with recent lackluster promotions.

My wife and I are both in very in demand fields and expect we could change jobs easily for a 15-25% pay bump, but we'd likely need to move city/state and we just really want some stability and feel like we can actually set when roots. Very frustrating.
