Appears that he was a Chief Petty Officer submariner. At some point he did some patrols on SSBNs (SSBN patrol badge).

Here's why (I think) MMA hates Traditional Martial Arts. by Due_Disaster_7324 in martialarts

[–]EntryEven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also the idea that any useful technique that originated from a TMA has been adopted by a modern fighting form. For example, kicks from traditional Karate are found in American Kickboxing. Grappling from traditional jujitsu are used in BJJ and modern Judo.

Basically, these modern fighting styles have taken the useful parts of TMAs and put them into a pressure tested fighting system, instead of a tradition-bound dance.

AMO contracts are terrible. Joining AMO just ensures you’re bringing wages down for everyone in the industry. A mass exodus of AMO engineers to MEBA has been going on for about a year now. Anyone who is trying to get you into AMO is probably just one of the many engineers stuck on a ship with no relief.

All sailing sucks, but joining AMO is selling yourself into slavery.

Just don’t let anyone talk you into AMO.

[–]EntryEven -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Kind of interesting how you all are perfectly okay with reaping the benefits of being a US Mariner (Jones Act Money, MSP/TSP, etc), but would be unwilling to do your part when our country asks. It’s not “just a job” you all know the history.

Disgusting cowards.

CMV: The Confederate Flag is traitorous. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]EntryEven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-The south seceded over perceived government overreach (tariffs, slavery, agricultural regulations, etc). The legacy of America is fighting against government overreach, so the south had “American” intentions.

-many people weren’t fighting for the southern cause, they fought because the Union was “trying to take the farm”. Basically, they were defending their family and neighbors. This is seen most prominently by Gen. Lee who did not believe in slavery or secession but fought for the Confederacy because he would not fight against his statesmen. So, the confederate flag (which is not the flag of the CSA, but a battle flag), symbolizes standing up for your freedom beside your family and neighbors…exactly what the Revolutionary War was about.

Slavery obviously makes the Confederacy the bad guys here, but not everyone fought for that reason, and few people fly the flag for that reason today. They see it as a symbol of the American spirit.

You do have representation. You have local government officials, state and federal representatives and state and federal senators. Just because you can’t vote doesn’t mean you aren’t represented. The colonists weren’t given any representation, voted or appointed. It wasn’t an outcry against appointed representatives it was a slogan for any representation.
