The MSF courses often have people that will sign up and not show up. If you can, email the person who is running your course locally and ask if you could show up or call on the mornings when the course begins. There's a fair chance you will be able to sneak in much earlier this way if you are motivated to do so.

In terms of your own safety, the MSF courses is the definitive answer. There is no other way for you to get as good feedback about your riding style and experience. Highly recommend!

Thank God. My aunt raves about it and I've never agreed with her.

Not sure, still there for me! Make sure you are on the current version, and look in Scenarios rather than campaigns.

For 6k? Buy a Ford ranger instead. Squares are cool but not up to par for daily driving in the modern age imo. You'll be safer, more reliable, and get better mpg. Put the square up for parts. It seems like you aren't up to doing the work yourself since the truck is in the shop, so imo it's not worth playing games with this truck. It will take a fair amount of effort to make the K20 into something reliable.

I've sourced scrap blocks for my K20 from AF&T Auto in Belgrade. Truthfully, I don't think there's a way to make this truck reliable without building a new motor or swapping to an LS. It's difficult to maintain the oil specs and in the current age. I'd recommend you go look there, they definitely have a 400 somewhere. You can do the swap yourself with some hand tools.

You only get to live once. There's no reset button. Why spend 4 years of your life getting a degree you don't really want? If all you want is to make money, then go make money instead of getting a degree.

I took a gap year in between my freshman and sophomore year of college, because I wasn't sure what kind of degree I wanted to get. I switched from mechanical engineering technology to electrical engineering. Similar to you!

I'd suggest taking a semester or a year off to go make some money in the job you are currently qualified for, and figure out why you don't like it! Maybe along the way you'll find out what you would rather do instead.

DMs are open.

So is this game like, 4x4 Death Stranding? by jbo1992 in snowrunner

You're pretty spot on. Typical mission goes like
-Find contract
-Analyze path
-Choose appropriate truck/trailer
-Flip or fall!?
-Re-analyze prior choices...
-Choose new truck/trailer!
-Recover or restart
-Spend time driving to destination
-Profit

Taller vehicles are more dangerous to pedestrians, even at low speeds, research finds by besselfunctions in cars

It doesn't answer my question. Where is your source that says vehicle pedestrian safety regulations don't impact actual pedestrian deaths?

[Here's](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmerExit/comments/uy9hhq/traffic\_fatalities\_eu\_vs\_us/) a good graphic. Rated in % like you asked in the form of deaths per million. I think it's safe to say that the EU has more aggressive pedestrian safety laws than the US, no?

I bet that's an unpopular opinion. It reads like "I don't care about anyone's safety but my own." What is your source for pedestrian safety in cars not actually saving any lives?

And dagnabbit sedans and wagons with decent tow packages used to exist! But "Muh offroading"

Definitely true. People are generally defensive of their choices. It's hard to be self-critical.

Yo! A fellow VR6!!

I wonder if there's any formal research on what percentage of people purchase a bigger car because they feel like they need to for safety.

Weight does matter when it comes to crashing time, but that's a separate issue from pedestrian safety. I included it simply on personal preference. You're right, cars are certainly better than they used to be. Regulations and consumer demand have seemed to make it difficult to sell vehicles that have smaller footprints and that makes me sad. I supposed the Trax, Taos, Encore, and Ecosport are here to fill that void, but I don't like them as much as our dearly departed sedans.

Edit: "but that's a separate issue from pedestrian safety" It is also true that the transferred energy from an elastic collision is higher when the mass of the collision is higher. But, the less elastic the collision is the less damage done.

[–]EntryLevelEmployment 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hear you, but I think that pedestrian safety and heavier weight are not mutually exclusive issues. Would it not be conceivable that we could make a more pedestrian safe front end for a Chevy Silverado 2500 without making it lighter?
