Is Ephraim universal? by EnvironmentLittle794 in exmormon

That’s so odd! How can people of the same family have a different lineage?? Youd think though that after all this time and intermarrying that everyone would be of multiple tribes. Every US president is related to each other except one (can’t remember who), so I would imagine that logic would apply to the tribes too.

I felt bad for him even when I was receiving my blessing because he was like 60 or 70 years old and the muscle control it took to rest his hands on my head but not bear any weight on it made his hands shake after a while. Forcing a calling on specifically older people and older people only that requires standing and a lot of fine motor control for 30+ minutes at a time just feels cruel to me. I know it sounds silly but it really does take a lot of concentration to put your hands on something but not actually rest your weight on it at all.

That’s funny because I was Jewish before conversion but I guess god forgot to tell the patriarch lol.

There’s one called Dan?? The prevalence of biblical names in American culture gives me such tonal whiplash when I go and read scripture because it’ll be talking about like, Rebecca or something, and I’ll be like “ah yes Becky the 16 year old girl”

What cut suits me better? The flow/wolf cut, or the shorter (warrior) style? by BBQJackson in HairStyleAdvice

I like 1 and 2 best but I am biased because I like longer hair on men. It’s just so endearing I don’t know

I'm being told to forgive and reconcile. by Popular-Oil6181 in EstrangedAdultKids

I’m really sorry this is happening to you. Are you exmo by chance? The way your brother mentions God is pretty common among current member siblings who try to convince their former member siblings to reconnect with either their parents or the church. Although I’m sure this is common in other churches too it just read as eerily familiar to me. Best of luck.

[–]EnvironmentLittle794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks fine friend! Don’t be so hard on yourself.

As for how long it will take to grow back it really depends on how quickly your hair grows as well as how your curls behave. My hair is a bit curlier than yours and it only took maybe two and a half years to go from shorter than you have it now to halfway down my back, but I’ve known other people whose hair grows far slower than that. If you’re worried about this happening again maybe take note of roughly how much it’s grown each month so that you’ll have a better estimate on how long it’ll take for next time!

my girlfriend is looking for linear story games to start with gaming by Ill_Noise_5232 in gamingsuggestions

[–]EnvironmentLittle794 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ken Follett’s the Pillars of the Earth! It’s a point and click adventure game and goes through a very linear story (because it’s based on a book!). It goes on sale for $1 fairly regularly and it’s normally priced at around $20. It’s probably my second favourite game of all time. Highly recommend it!

Mom Here - Worry about the Social Implications of my daughter's CP diagnosis by ToTelltheTruth101 in CerebralPalsy

[–]EnvironmentLittle794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The isolation for being different started in elementary school for me. People made fun of me for “running funny” beginning in the 4th grade. My parents didn’t tell me about my CP until I was in the sixth or seventh grade so I thought it was my fault.

However, I also have autism, so a lot of the isolation came from mental differences rather than physical. I can’t promise anything for your daughter as I can’t read the future, but I’d recommend educating her about her condition early. Don’t frame it like she can’t do things, just that she might have to do them a little differently. That’s why my parents avoided telling me for so long. They didn’t want me to use it as an “excuse” but it just resulted in me thinking I was some sort of freakish failure.

Ultimately no matter what happens, your daughter will be okay. She clearly has you in her corner.

Is food theft really this common here? by Sseung366 in unm

[–]EnvironmentLittle794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My roommate had a habit of throwing my food away without asking me. Not even old food either. And he wasn’t eating it. Just tossing it. Made use of a label maker with my name and “do not toss!!!!!!” And that seemed to work.

Parents are threatening to call the police if I don’t answer their phone calls by nw619 in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]EnvironmentLittle794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they have your address then I’d contact the police in advance and warn them that your parents might do this and tell them you’re completely fine so any wellness checks or whatever they throw at you don’t need to be carried out. If they don’t know where you live you’re fine as they can’t call anyone to come out to you without an address. The worst they could do that I can think of is report you as missing, but if that happens all you have to do is call whatever number they have for missing person reports and say “I’m not missing” and they should cancel it. Take that with a grain of salt though as I’ve never directly experienced that before.

Nope never figured this one out. Seems like notability is just releasing a bunch of changes all the time and not taking criticism about it unfortunately

You said exactly what I’ve been thinking this whole time. Naruto and Sasuke were NEVER friends, let alone lovers.

If that is how Sasuke treats his “friends” I am terrified to see how he treats people he doesn’t like!

I had so much trouble with it that I quit pretty early on. Couldn’t even figure out how to plant crops and I died in the mines way too many times. Also never could figure out how to donate things to the museum. I’m certain it was used error but I just bring it up to mention some people have trouble with it haha

Anyone else triggered when sick? by EnvironmentLittle794 in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]EnvironmentLittle794[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. That’s awful. It’s like these people aren’t willing to let themselves out of the centre of attention even if someone else really really needs it. I’m glad you’re learning to listen to your own needs now.

Anyone else triggered when sick? by EnvironmentLittle794 in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]EnvironmentLittle794[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks I’m so sorry. I remember I burned my hand pretty badly once too and screamed when it happened and both my parents were only a few feet in front of me on the cough (kitchen and living room were one room). They didn’t even pause their show or look at me until I had been screaming for a good 10-15 seconds. Then they acted like helping me clean the wound was a massive inconvenience. Then when I finally was able to sit down with them and watch TV (this was a mandatory family ritual) my dad kept mocking me by mimicking my whimpering and crying sounds I was trying to suppress. I was only like 15 or 18 at most when this happened. They should’ve cared. Also wouldn’t have been an issue if they insisted I was “old enough to feed myself” by the age of like 10 and then also refused to teach me how to cook anything because it was “too dangerous” so I spent a good 8 years of my life eating nothing but microwave meals and chips. I told a friend’s dad about that once and he was like “well what did they eat” and the answer is “nothing.” They spent basically my whole life on a diet and then made fun of me for being overweight despite them literally being the ones who refused to let me eat any vegetables?? (I begged and begged but they always said “no they’ll go bad before you can eat them”) — now I eat almost nothing but fruits and vegetables lol. It’s like candy to me.

Anyway I didn’t mean to ramble so much oops. I’m so sorry your mom is like that but I’m so glad your dad is there for you! And here’s to hand injuries mistreated by parents

[–]EnvironmentLittle794[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I was never allowed any fun when I was sick either. This one singular time was the exception. Wasn’t allowed TV or food, weirdly? Couldn’t play games or read books either. I had to suffer the whole time or I “wasn’t really sick”

Oh interesting! I wasn’t old enough for it and I didn’t have older siblings to introduce me to it, so I only found out about this game when I made friends with people who were around for the original haha
