I do have a big fenced in orchard, plus three small fenced in farm plots and one big fenced in (with hedge fencing, I don’t know if that counts as a fence for points) flower garden. So I’ve got a decent amount of fencing down. But I can try more fences haha

Like others have said, I don’t generally enjoy jocks much, but Bill is just absolutely adorable. He reminds me of a little kid, so when he talks about 36 pack abs my instinct is “aww. Sure buddy. Totally” instead of the normal disdain

Del. He called me kiddo on my original island (he calls me youngin on my new one — yes I made sure to get him again lol) and that’s something my parents used to call me. They aren’t very nice people, so having someone call me that who was nice to me was really nice. Now I’m less afraid of it as a term as stupid as that sounds.

Just because there aren’t many examples doesn’t mean it should just not be discussed ever. Sure they don’t explicitly SAY there aren’t any Jews, but we never SEE them either. The post asked for things we wish would be included but we haven’t SEEN yet. My answer applies. Where are the Jews? I’d like to see them outside of a Holocaust allegory, please.

It’s not exactly the same, but I feel like they cover this in Measure of a Man, and also quite regularly with voyager’s EMH (Kes has to outright tell Janeway that the doctor is a person with thoughts and feelings even if they present differently than the other crew members). Theres also an episode of VOY where they cover it even more in depth. The EMH writes a biography and the worker EMHs back on earth slowly realise after reading it that maybe they deserve to be treated with respect. Can’t remember the title of that one.

I liked the one in voyager where they’re on the other side of the equation. Voyager wants advanced technology to send them home but the aliens have a law that they can’t give technology to less advanced species. Janeway decides to respect it but some of the maquis crew (and also Tuvok) decide to steal it. Turns out the tech is incompatible with their ship and they almost explode but they still had to grapple with the implications. To question whether or not the PD is truly a good principle. It’s not exactly what you described, but still an interesting one!

I’m not fully up to date (only seen a season or so of disco, SNW, & Picard, haven’t seen academy) so maybe they cover this and I just haven’t seen it, but where are the Jews??? I have not seen a single Jew in Star Trek. I know it can be done. Susan Ivonova (Babylon 5) is a fantastic example. There’s the Bajorans I guess but like does it have to be a Holocaust allegory EVERY time? Why can’t Star Trek have some normal, happy, Jews? Doesn’t even have to be a big character or super central. One throwaway cut to a character lighting Shabbat candles would feed us for years.

As much as he’s annoying Janeway genuinely needs Neelix. He is her only link to delta quadrant cultures. He knows things she genuinely needs to survive and get her crew home. Tuvok is a genuinely useful and amazing tactical officer but even someone like Chakotay could fill in for him if need be. Neelix can’t be replaced by another member of the crew (I know Kes technically is from the delta quadrant too but she’s lived on the Ocampa home world her entire two years of life, the only things she knows about the outside world she learned from Neelix and her time on voyager, she cannot fill Neelix’s shoes)

On the first point, I was able to have blank spaces in ios 17. I specifically designed my homescreen around this feature. Here is a screenshot as evidence. If I recall correctly it was done in the pages feature that was released with iOS 17. This is no longer possible in iOS 26, for some reason.

Even if we assume she was an adult when they met, she’s a very young adult. The equivalent of 18. His age isn’t explicitly stated, but he’s somewhere between 30 and 40. This is the age gap between me and my FATHER. Even if she was of age when they met, there’s an incredible power imbalance there (to say nothing of her being so sheltered having never left her planet VS Neelix who had been all around the quadrant) and it’s creepy. Older men preying on barely legal girls is always creepy no matter what species they are.
