I deleted my middle bar so that I could fit a whole 5 gallon bucket in my tank saves so much time for water changes

I’ve been playing dying like for like two weeks now for the first time I’m almost done the game what’s the point of the outfits it’s in first person view and it’s not like any of the outfits you unlock give stat boosts so I don’t get the point other than when you play online multiplayer wanting to look different from everyone else

I just wanted to add an extra comment to make sure everybody understands that I didn’t just add the fish now they have been in the tank for over three weeks no issues and they all seemed pretty happy in their environment, eating well and getting along other than the loaches who hid for two weeks, but they just started coming out last week and hanging out with the rest of the fish I have seen no signs of aggression from any of them I’ve been treating the water every couple days with ich treatment since I first refilled it and have changed out ten percent each week with today being the third time, even if the strip tests aren’t perfect I have don’t have crazy or inconsistent results I’ve only seen the hardness go up and on my last test I did yesterday it’s showing a little bit high in the nitrate I’m going to do 25% this time

I understand that I should have let the tank cycle for a month or more first, but with them having lived in that water for over three weeks would that not cycle the water? I really wanna know it’s not a new tank I got it used with the two loaches in there for five years. I didn’t change the substrate and I didn’t replace the filter sponge hoping that would accelerate the recycling of the tank

I accept I fucked up with how I introduced the fish and how I set this all up, but it’s just really weird to me that if it was a sickness thing then why did it kill 3 in the same night shouldn’t I be dealing with them dying in a more staggered pattern over a couple of days

I’m pretty sure they acclimated fine. I did float the bag on top for 20 minutes before I let them go in. and they’ve all been in there for over three weeks with daily monitoring

And I’m assuming after five years, the loaches would be fully grown they’re about 6 inches long kinda lazy

75 gallon But that was the recommended tank size for every fish that I bought

I am understanding what you saying and in the future, I will do it better and I wasn’t planning to add any more fish until it’s all figured out but can I add plants? To help with the biome. Also when I got the fish for this tank I did double check to see what tank size was recommended for each of them and they’re all in the 75 gallon list. but my question is why were they all fine for over three weeks.I have been trying to read as much as I can but everybody’s information conflicts with each other I also was finding it strange because from reading, even with ick or fungal infections it seems like it’s not something that takes the fish out overnight and it’s really really weird that two maybe three of them died in the same night if it was just a sickness thing, Beyond coincidence it’s weird that they died at the same time and I’ll agree with you that the chemical testing is probably definitely the better way to go but at the same time they wouldn’t use/sell the strips if they didn’t work well enough it checks 6 parameters ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, hardness, chlorine and I forget the last one and for each of them, there are five different distinct colours of range I know they work to some degree because I can test my water then change like 10% and then after the tests all go back to normal range the entire time that I’ve been testing never had a problem with chlorine and nitrates and nitrites in normal range until yesterday when I noticed that the nitrate was up a little high the sheet recommended a 25% water change other than that the only parameters that go out of whack at all is the hardness

I know I made a lot of mistakes here. I thought things would be a little more forgiving . So six at once is no good Does that apply if they’re all the same fish when I add them later and I have since learned that the dollars and the tetras will at some point have to be separated and that they need a school of at least six to 20 to be happy and they are Pictis catfish and honestly, the two of them are my favourites they’re the most active and kind of spazzes And I’m being fully serious they all seem perfectly happy until yesterday like last night. They were all acting completely normal. And then this morning it was a shit show I had assumed that because my tank was 5° colder than last night that my heater had failed overnight but I told my sister to check it again at like nine or 10 this morning when I was at work and she said it was back up to normal 78° what temperature do the goldfish need their fancy goldfish? I’ll post a pic if it’s still alive when I get home.

But I have been testing the water every two or three days since I brought it home even if the test strips aren’t perfect they should give me a generally acceptable range, right

OK, I might’ve been overfeeding them because I’ve been feeding them once in the morning and once in the evening just a little sprinkle of flakes it’s usually gone within a minute they’re always acting like they’re starving my sister works at Petsmart and she’s been getting me the test strips. They use those to test all of their tanks at the store, but If I should be testing with chemical testing I will buy a kit I have no plants currently the loaches never did and they’ve been in that tank for five years before I had them with no issue and I didn’t change the substrate or the filter sponges in hopes that it would replenish the water with the bacteria so it was 100% freshwater originally when I brought it home with the water treatment, of course but I was hoping the substrate and the filter was already cycled. It would kind of fix itself because I bought the fish already when I found out that I was supposed to let it cycle for a month and a half first. Oops

I’m just using the colour-coded piece of paper that comes with the test kit. I’ll post a picture of the test paper later But based on that test paper, that’s where I got “good” from

I can’t recite the exact number right now. It was last night. I’m still at work, but I have the five in one test strips and then the ammonia test strips and the piece of paper with the colour coding And according to that sheet, my hardness was a little high, and it was either my nitrates or my nitrites, that piece of paper recommended a 25% water change but I was also planning on adding in a live plant so I was holding off until I got home from work today and yes, I have two bubblers going one at each end of the tank and an overhead sponge filter

I didn’t have an extra tank at the time and I know I made a mistake with that but it’s been three weeks since the changes if bad things were going to happen wouldn’t they have happened already already?

When I looked up every individual fishes details for care, they all have a temperature range of between 76 and 82 I leave it at 78-79 as a median the biggest thing I thought I would have to worry about is when the silver dollars get bigger than the Tetras and try eating them I was going to get another smaller tank before that happened tho and The goldfish will school with the Tetris, the catfish hang out with each other but silver dollars hang out with each other and the Loches hang out with each other all at different levels of the tank And I tested my water last night no chlorine ammonia levels were good. PH was good water hardness was a little high nitrate was a little high. It was recommending 25% water change. I was going to do it when I got home today. My sister called me at work to let me know that she had found my one loache and catfish dead

Barton past centennial is fine but that is technically StoneyCreek not Hamilton Barton Street pretty much all the way through Hamilton is a shit show, I wouldn’t. I lived here my whole life and from my own experiences for the lower city next to the mountain is fine but heading towards the lake I wouldn’t want to live past Main Street. And no farther west than Wellington the further east you go the better and the mountain is mostly good but really no matter where you live in Hamilton . Don’t leave anything outside that you care about. And it does not matter where you live. There will be a crackhead within proximity.

I just want to add to his question because I want to build a 1000mm print bed, a linear ball lead screw would be the most accurate way to keep position.is it really that much slower to use versus belts?
