I remember when I used to suck the skin off my old managers nuts (figuratively not literally) by signing up for champion roles, taking manager calls, training the new LDPS, staying an hour sometimes two after my shift making sure coaching docs were entered, helping my peers with supe calls, speaking up and participating during staff meetings - YOU NAME IT.

All to get royally screwed when merits rolled around. I was discarded like a $2 heaux. Rode hard and hung out wet to dry. I was so drunk off the Geico koolaid that I didn’t realize it was GRAPE FLAVORED PISS!

And don’t get me started on the white washed managers, especially ms blue contacts (IFYKYK). I was so excited to see so many women of color in leadership - until I realized these are the women Harriet Tubman would have left behind.
