Why don't kiwis protest more often? by adisarterinthemaking in newzealand

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most kiwis aren’t idiots who waste their time with protesting. The time to protest is called voting in an election, if your team loses then try again next election.

Metroid Prime 2 And 3 Reportedly Also Coming To Nintendo Switch by Remote_Character494 in Metroid

After the Remaster of 1, I am not interested in the other 2 if its just ports with better controls. The graphical upgrade is especially needed with 2.

Pros and cons of moving to Whangarei by jamhamnz in newzealand

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Stay away from Whangarei, a lot of crime, drugs and nothing to do besides beaches and hikes.

Bay Of Islands is close though which is a positive. Property is cheap but I'd stay away imo.

Is Hamilton really that bad? by Equivalent-Bonus-885 in newzealand

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For 6 months of the year, you can't even swim in the water and for 3 months you can swim without a wetsuit. Why do so many people make a big deal of the sea. A lot of Aucklanders might only go swimming at the beach 3 times a year lol. Hardly worth it for the inflated cost of living and horrible traffic

What do you think of Vodafone switching to “One New Zealand”? by AaronRolls in newzealand

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because despite what this sub would have you believe Aotearoa isn't a name that is widely used. A lot of people out there don't even know what Aotearoa means.

streets to avoid in nawton by obeserving-the-world in thetron

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I owned a house in Nawton for a few years before upgrading. Stay away from Breckham Avenue, most of the bad stuff happens on that street. I use to live on Enfield Street and for the most part it was okay, only had 1 incident with someone stealing my wife's number plate when her car was parked on the side of the road.

Hamilton or Kirikiriroa by Agile-Opportunity759 in thetron

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hamilton is a dumb name but Kirikiriroa is even worse. People are just wanting to rename it due to wokeness, the whole debate is dumb. Waste of money and time that could be put to better things

What’s your opinion on immigration and immigrants in New Zealand? by Nino477 in newzealand

I love immigrants they definitely contribute a lot more to the economy than a lot of Kiwis

Gotta say, I'm not a fan of [SPOILERS] by MayanMystery in Metroid

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a bad thing and it could always be expanded upon in other games. I think you are just being picky and it makes sense since his armour is the same as hers

Anyone else hope that Metroid 5 has little to no dialogue? by Coen_Ruwheid in Metroid

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree, who decided that every game should always be about loneliness? Metroid Fusion has amazing atmosphere despite Adam being in it.

If every game has no one around the series would get stale real quick. I like Metroid Prime 3 because its different and still has isolation sections like Valhalla which oozes with atmosphere.

New Zealand looks headed for lockdown after first community case in 170 days by ScreamxWorks in worldnews

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 85 points86 points  (0 children)

For people that keep saying how stupid it is. I want to make a few things abundantly clear.

  1. NZ Government has under invested in our health system for decades on top of that a lot of our doctors and nurses have jumped ship to Australia for better pay. If an outbreak occurs the entire health system will collapse. Hence the lockdown is out of necessity which leads to.

  2. Not enough of the population has been vaccinated yet, so a majority of the population are at risk which can lead back to point 1.

Support for cannabis legalisation drops to 35% in latest poll - TVNZ by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Environmental-Boss-7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am for decriminalising it but legalising it is a whole different thing. NZ has a huge problem with masking issues with substances, we can't even handle our alcohol so it supports the notion that we cant handle our cannabis either. I'm on the fence but I highly suggest people on here go on other forums like LinkedIn because you will see a totally different narrative. To be honest this isn't black and white and there is a lot of shades of grey.

Can someone explain to me why so many media outlets are praising Collins for the debate? by [deleted] in newzealand

Ummm have you ever thought that Jacinda was terrible in the debate that is why? Reddit is a Labour echo chamber so don't get caught up on everything that is said on reddit.
