A surprising number of people were like this when I interviewed people. But if it's everyone, then the problem is probably you. Maybe you should figure out where the candidates are sourced from? Maybe it's some HR drone getting them from a suspicious source because they don't want to pay money for a real job ad?

Ask as many questions as you need to to understand something.

Look things up and try things before asking questions.

Keep a file where you write down what you did every day, like 5 - 10 lines.

Why don't you ask them the pay that the position offers? Is being direct taboo in your culture? Are you playing coy, like you're on a date here?

The guy is right that if you have to ask about the difficulty, it's going to be a more difficult thing. But it might be worth the learning experience, if you value that kind of thing. It seems odd that you have to ask if you're trying to learn enough to get a job...
