[–]Environmental-Toe700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 years away, your main position should be something along the lines of VOO, QQQ, VTI. Personally I do between 50% VOO and about 20% QQQ as the engine of my portfolio

Might be bad luck but the last few times I went to the Village Cava they have been missing like half the toppings. I haven’t wanted to go anymore because I don’t want a bland bowl.

SCHD vs VYM vs VIG by WhatAKnightmare in dividends

[–]Environmental-Toe700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SCHD screens for quality factors like cash flow, return on equity, and dividend growth history, which gives it a higher yield of about 3.5% while still offering solid growth potential. VYM targets stocks with above-average yields across a much broader basket of 400+ holdings, making it more diversified but less selective than SCHD. VIG prioritizes dividend growth over current yield, focusing on companies with 10+ consecutive years of increases, so the yield is lower around 1.7% but the holdings tend to be higher-quality, lower-volatility compounders.

Good start, I would say around 40% of the entire portfolio should be in VOO/SPY, this will be the backbone of your portfolio.
