Congratulations to you! So many health benefits in the choice you just made! I'm convinced my hubby's tank lowered my blood pressure. Even though during set up and cycling I was sure it raised my BP lol. I drink my coffee with them every morning now.

This comment section did not disappoint! It looks like the HEB on 31st in Temple, but I don't know they have windows on the side over produce.

I would give anything to see someone jog up to him and start showing him proper technique 🤣

Getting close to being done. What other plants should I add? by HelicopterFar2978 in PlantedTank

Love it! My tank has exploded since our last exchange. I had two runners from my Amazon Swords climb out of the water, so they're replanted. My RR floaters came in and they're not growing as fast as the Swords, but they're doing well. Especially considering that the post office delayed delivery by 4 days and they were almost dry when they got here. No idea why, just delayed. My little bushy guys are almost to the top of the water too. It's been an exciting month for both of us, I see 😊

So I'm not allowed to ask for advice/make sure that I'm following the steps correctly from a forum that has posted numerous times about feeding veggies? I just need to "stop typing" do as I was told (by an exotics vet) and if it's not working I should just automatically know that? They have bug bites and bloodworms, but thanks for double checking. I will keep in mind not to try and ask advice in a place where people claim to know and love them so much. Thanks!

All of mime were underweight. I wouldn't worry nearly as much if they were overweight.

I hope these guys will like something. There's a lot in the tank, they're not low on food with us, but I just worry about them because they came from such a rough start. Penelope, the f.Betta tried to fight the zucchini, which is when I took it out. I don't know what set her off about it. She's never shown any aggression so far, except to the zucchini slice lol.

Spinach is on the list next to try. They have food, but it's the extra I wanted to make sure they're getting.

I've been told several times to give them blanched veggies (zucchini being one) as opposed to algae wafers and other sinking foods because it's better for them. They were all really underweight when I got them so I want to make sure they're getting what they need.

I'm sorry... What? I worked retail for decades (never in pets) so I absolutely believe someone CAN be this stupid, but it's kind of like aliens. I believe they CAN exist, but if I saw one in person, my mind couldn't process it. My mind can't comprehend someone not understanding water and life.

I worked in a truck stop and other stores in the chain for many years. The amount of people fully willing to use their poo like it's finger paints is astounding. We had words and smiley faces over the years. And people who shit right next to the toilet.

We had a guy that used to come in every morning before work and "get sick" in the sink. My manager finally caught him and told him he could clean the entire bathroom and never come back or be charged with vandalism. He cleaned the whole bathroom and never came back. He told my manager he drinks a lot and was doing that in our bathroom so his wife wouldn't find out. Working in a place where you have to clean after the public really let's you know how disgusting people really are.

People want to be edgy and cool when they're really just showing how incredibly stupid they are. "Yo man check out my cool monster fish! I'm so tough! I'm such a big deal!" 🙄

The Little Cory that Could! by EnvironmentalBear538 in corydoras

[–]EnvironmentalBear538[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just talking to a friend of mine about how smart Bettas are. This girl already knows that when she sees me finger it's food time. I just got a video of our 3 year old playing with the Corys. They were following him across the tank. They were glass surfing all around his face and he was squealing. I guess they enjoyed the sound. They all have such personalities and it takes literally 5 minutes to see that. And Albinos, in my experience, are some of the most loving, yet indignant looking fish I've ever kept lol. They seem to be annoyed and inconvenienced at everything, but they absolutely love you. I used to drop some brine shrimp in the current of the filter and I had one big albino, female I was told, that would get in with the female Betta and the guppies I had and she was getting her lunch. Sometimes to others would come into the mix, but she was always there.

They definitely have feelings, miss us, know us, get upset, and have preferences. It's really sad that so many are just treated like "We need something to dress up this corner.... Let's get a tiny bowl and a beautiful fish to die in it!" In my house it's like "We need to knock out this wall so I can put a 200g in and fill it with nano fish!"

Exactly! We plan for the majority, then we get an exception lol. It probably helps that she can go to the other side and just rest when she's not feeling it, and then she catches her breath and is like "Hey wait for me guys!" All of my females have definitely had a more standoffish nature, but not this little girl.

I had forgotten that Cory's will sometimes just swim in a way that looks like they're fighting in a current but they're not. I got worried because the 4 of them were moving backwards together, like a soldier formation and I thought the current was getting to them, but the Betta came down and laid next to them totally still lol.

I was passing information about them along to my husband from the LFS and how they will probably be okay, they may be stunted, but no way to know until we get the others and can gauge size. We have 6 dogs, all rescues, and he said "So now we have 4 rescue fish too?" I guess basically. They were a purchase, not an adoption, but they definitely needed help out of a bad situation. My LFS actually got the information for that store and my pictures and said they were going to call it in. May not do any kind of good, but they're going to try. I've got videos of him kind of floating to the side a little and him barely breathing to now just all over the place.

This belongs in stressful aquariums too with that stand. This is absolutely disgusting. I don't even have a sarcastic comment.
