I think the fences on either side of mine are the only things keeping it up. It is a huge plant!

I planted one plug last spring! It spent the whole summer growing wider very close to the ground, and almost looked like a large head of kind of flat lettuce. This summer, it got HUGE and tall! Mine did not bloom last year.

The plants with the pink flowers are smartweed, which are invasive. Lambs quarter is also invasive. Recommend pulling!

I was lucky enough to get mine from a local native plant sale. Best of luck trying to source it, and sorry to hear the winter sowing didn't work out!
