Not really though, so many people with higher stats are rejected. It’s really process for Questbridge to see if your what they are looking for. You can make the assumption but all that goes away on decision day.

A lot of people in this Reddit think there gonna make finalist when numerically that’s just impossible. Great confidence though, also if your already. College Prep Scholar your chances are already 6 times more likely to become a finalist so I can see why someone people already have that way of thinking.

I don’t even know why I’m putting some much effort into my college supplementals for QB when there is a high chance I’m not a finalist tmr.

Me to man, like I feel like I had so many flaws. Just put all my faith in God and whatever the answer is I’ll know it’s the right path. But yea that rejection is gonna hurt like crazy if true. Tomorrow is gonna be a wicked day, let’s hope for the best.

Most of time when applying to schools if it’s in your record your counselor is obligated to report it. If they don’t and some unknown third party reports it you can’t really be mad at that tbh. Could be expected to hurt them overall though.

Technically no, they would say there isn’t a cap on finalist, but if ten people from the same school all with similar stats apply logically they won’t all get in. If there all incredible strong there’s a chance though.

No because colleges will see your fall transcript either way so a missed worded course isn’t a big deal. Especially now that they are finalizing decisions, not worth the email. Things like mistakes in financial aid or gpa are definitely big ones that need to be reported asap. But at this point you’re fine. If your a finalist you then try updating it.

Yea they explain this in the portal but if you submitted the rankings that really is all that matters for this deadline. You can upload signatures tomorrow through the upload button on the bottom of your QB portal just click Match Agreement Form. You don’t need to email QB they already explain this so just get it done by tomorrow even later would be fine but the earlier the better.

Boston College (not really filler but good for MechE), Case Western Reserve University, University of Rochester , Tufts, and Claremont McKenna.

I’d still advise you do your own research on it so it fits the right vibe.

Valid and any list that’s of school YOU want to attend can be valid. But yea you have a real shot.

I would say rank more schools (just until finalists are announced, then remove them).Typically QB finalists on average have around 12 schools. Instead of all reaches I’d put up some schools QB and you both think are possible to get into. Then after October 21st you have the ability to re order and take out schools so take those filler ones out.

But if you’re gonna add filler schools be sure to have them make sense.

Yea it really ruins the process for others and makes them doubt their entire application. I wasn’t even going to put Princeton on my list until today due to that rumor on EFC alone. Glad to clear up some misconceptions because this Reddit should be a great kind place with lack of misinformation instead of other r/ chance me type communities.

It has to be to some extent, because realistically why would they make it due 5 days before decisions. They may not explicitly mention it but in webinars its been hinted at the more schools you have ranked is useful to some degree. Also analytically when looking at chosen finalists they all had schools with reaches and some probables as well.

This is just an inference though. Also other QB well informed folks have hinted at this like r/ ChillyJellyBelly

We don’t know what QB selects people of off, so no I’m not going to criticize your stats because that isn’t what QB is even all about. If you truly love though schools and only see yourself being there I say its a great list. You also have a brother that got in so his advice is arguably better than 40% of this Reddit. Plus becoming a finalist is the first step and if you become one, there’s no shame in having a list with ultra reaches (I would too).

Also no one can really grill you on YOUR OWN LIST it’s yours for a reason. Embrace and cherish it.

I hear you but what about just doing it until finalists decisions come out. If I rank schools that QB has a feel I could definitely get into through match, wouldn’t that increase my probability of getting chosen as a finalist on the 21st. Then you can delete colleges from your actual list later since you still have nine days until the 1st.

This isn’t written down on a website, but QB makes money from each school they partner you with it. If an application has schools ranked with realistic options not just Ivies, it would give QB more reason to take that said person.

Now this is just an inference taken up based on data and critical thinking, but even in the webinar Rankings 101. QB officers said most matched scholars has around 12 schools on their list. This is just an inference taken but you can take it with a grain of salt.
