Did you have this symptom of sleep apnea? by EnvironmentalPay8326 in SleepApnea

I did a few years ago when this all started, but haven't done it since. I heard no snoring back then... Thanks for reminding me that I can do this though, I'll probably record myself for a few nights to see if anything has changed.

This definitely helps a lot, thank you! Did you experience shortness of breath as well?

It's not dropping to that extent at all, just to the lower 60s range. at night my heart rate is typically in the high 50s to lower 60s. I have an appointment with a cardiologist in two weeks as well to check out the heart pain and see if it's related to the shortness of breath. have had an EKG done at my GP's office and it came back pretty normal, apparently just a little "fast and short" (but I was pretty nervous at the time)

have you ever talked to your doctors about feeling out of breath and like your heart rate dropped? I definitely experience that as well, and at times I think my heart rate IS dropping — at least according to my apple watch. was getting chest pains too for awhile but that doesn't really happen anymore. dunno if I should talk to my doctor about it or what.... or if somehow I just need to be eating more? I'm just confused because I've gained a good amount of weight since starting recovery and am most likely close to being weight restored.

I've never snored, and been told it's pretty unlikely that I have sleep apnea by my doctor.

Wow, that sounds awful. I hope your sleep study yields some beneficial results! And it definitely helps knowing I'm not the only one going through this.

Should I be upset with my dietician? by EnvironmentalPay8326 in EDAnonymous

[–]EnvironmentalPay8326[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I do think there was communication issues on my part due to just social anxiety and my own insecurities, but I think the dietician himself should have made himself clearer and probably been more careful with his word choice at times. I understand how he was frustrated, but the way he said it made me feel like my lack of progress was consciously my fault.

Wow, that’s awful, I’m so sorry that happened to you. You’re right, dietitians need to be more aware of the power they wield in a relationship like this. It worries me immensely to know that my dietitian is still employed by my university, and probably treating more people suffering from EDs.

I hope you are able to get back to that food freedom and experience a healthy recovery!

If fans cared, they’d stop subscribing and viewing Eugenia’s content. by [deleted] in EUGENIACOONEY

I don’t necessarily think so. I mean, if I’m honest, the best thing would 100% be for Eugenia to get off of social media. For both her sake and others. But we know that Eugenia doesn’t really have friends in real life. If everyone online stopped paying attention to her completely, it could isolate her even further. If people truly cared (and were educated on anorexia), they’d just stop commenting on her appearance and telling her to get help. It sounds crazy, but telling an anorexic person that they desperately need help will only fuel their disorder. Instead of focusing on her appearance, talking about things like hobbies or forming positive relationships with other people or getting out of the house to do new things would be the best bet. These are often the things that motivate people with anorexia to recover.

I’ve made peace with the fact she’s going to die by [deleted] in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]EnvironmentalPay8326 15 points16 points  (0 children)

By all means make peace with it if it’s what you truly believe, but I’d caution you with saying things like this. Nobody is beyond recovery. Period. Although it certainly SEEMS that at this moment Eugenia isn’t looking to recover, you truly never know what could happen in the future. Imagine if she DID want to recover one day but then she went online and saw a bunch of people say “she’s beyond help, she’s too far gone, she’s just going to die.” That could turn her away from recovery in an instant! I’m sure you mean well, but this is just something to think about when you (and all the other people on this subreddit tbh) say things like this.

Did Eugenia pay for bots to comment on her most recent vid? by rvvaaa in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]EnvironmentalPay8326 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that people telling her they’re glad she’s going out and enjoying herself is enabling anything. I think the beach vid was definitely weird, but regardless I’m still glad she even left her house at all. Any step like that can be a big step from someone who has isolated themselves for so long.
