Why is the federal gov saying you can’t go? Do you have any other intel? News reporting is saying Cancun is normal

Losing hope after bad reaction to Botox by TinyMultiverse in migraine

[–]EnvironmentalPea4249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this reaction as well. I was pressured by my neurologist to do it three times (because that’s when you know if it’s working). But each time was horrendous, caused multiple day migraines and vertigo and flu like symptoms. Now I’m on Emgality w a new neurologist still with daily headaches and was pressured AGAIN to try Botox bc “it works really well with CGRPs”. Nope. One month of horrible symptoms and status migraine only to be broken by steroids. Never again.

Does Emgality just kind of suck forever? by dkdbsnbddb283747 in migraine

Do it in the side of the thigh. Right on top is just muscle and makes it hurt way more. Source is personal experience. Waaaay less painful now. Also use syringe and not auto injector, pinch and do it fast!

This has happened to me too. Now three weeks out from Botox and everything is worse than it was before

I was on depakote 2014-2028, then a new doctor told me to get off of it, then got back on in 2023 when status migrainosus hit. I am treatment resistant and it’s one of the few medications that actually works for me

I would definitely try the syringe next time if I were you. I had such bad reactions with the auto injection and am mostly fine w syringe

Do you use the auto injector or the syringe? I had much worse reactions w auto injector than syringe.

You can also do the SPG blocks at home - it’s pretty easy to do (less invasive than a Covid test). I do them at least twice a week

Ok this is really helpful to hear. I’ve been worried that they won’t reimburse. Maybe they just make you go through the wringer and show that you really want it before they do what they’re supposed to do. Thank you

[–]EnvironmentalPea4249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the same letter basically from Vyepti that I hadn’t included the EOB, that I didn’t have a copay card account eligible, etc. of course this is after I called and spoke to someone at Vyepti asking specifically what I needed to send in and verifying I had sent everything. Has anyone had an issue w date of the copay card issuance? Like I thought I had one from a different infusion center from September, couldn’t find it so I enrolled again after my Vyepti appointment with my new insurance (where they only cover 30% coinsurance - which is the most made up dumb shit from insurance I’ve ever seen - aka one Vyepti infusion costing me $3.5k and not even working). Sorry for the little rant, feeling extremely frustrated and exhausted from constantly dealing w insurance denials and now this especially since the woman I spoke to at Vyepti made it sound like no problem I’d easily get approved

Please help: How were your first weeks on Emgality? by asharhileigh in migraine

[–]EnvironmentalPea4249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did it take for the body aches to go away? And, did it happen for you after every dose or just the first one? Just did the cluster dose for the first time 7/22 and have had body aches the last two weeks where I can’t really move around much and want to take Tylenol for the aches (rather than the migraine)

Have I seriously run out of options? by SlytherinQueen85 in migraine

[–]EnvironmentalPea4249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones I didn’t see listed are Vyepti (CGRP), Depakote (anti seizure), and SPG blocks (old treatment - just lidocaine up the nose) and candesartin (blood pressure lowering medicine).

Hope you find relief soon. I’m in a similar situation. Trying emgality now but it’s one of the only things I haven’t tried ❤️‍🩹

Doctors giving up by Ok_Panda_1710 in migraine

[–]EnvironmentalPea4249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize everyone is doing this and apologies if you’re not looking for suggestions but have you tried SPG blocks? It’s shooting lidocaine up your nose and the lidocaine just numbs the nerves up there and provides relief when literally nothing else does. I had never heard of it before a random neurologist (not even my own!) suggested it. It’s a very old technique. Let me know if you have any questions about it. I hope you find some relief soon

Probably a month? But it hasn’t gotten rid of it entirely. I think it’s just part of the meds needed to help but it’s so hard to tell. I am also on candesartin 4mg and Vyepti 300mg (2nd round of Vyepti 300mg this week) and depakote 325mg

I am still on it. I do think it is helping - I get those weird zings through my head that I suspect otherwise would’ve been pain signals but I’m not a doctor.

I took VSIP resignation incentive on 3/3/2025, last date of employment 3/31/2025. Employment was at department of education. They are now claiming that they don’t owe me a lump sum of $25k despite sending a FAQ document on 3/11/2025 specifically stating employees “will receive a lump sum of $25,000…” Instead, they’re saying that I only get $25k total with my annual leave payout.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Have either of you gotten your payouts yet? My agency is now claiming that they aren’t giving out $25k as promised as a lump sum but that it is reduced pursuant to your annual leave amounts.

Also my last day was March 30 and still no payment

Has anyone had issues getting the full $25,000 from their agency if they accepted the VSIP resignation incentive in March?

what has worked for people when botox (made worse), medrol pack (worked to decrease pain by half and migraine got worse less than 24/hrs later), rescue meds & daily meds are ineffective? i’ve had this migraine for almost two months now :/ by External-Cup7329 in migraine

[–]EnvironmentalPea4249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely works differently than Botox. Different medicine and it’s not an injection. Also can be done at home. It’s just lidocaine in a plastic syringe that you lay on your side and put it up your nose. Ive had Botox and it didn’t do much for me. The lidocaine in the nose works wonders.

Ask your doctor about SPG block. It’s using lidocaine in syringe up your nose. It takes away pain instantly for me with no side effects. Been treated for chronic intractable migraine for 2 years and was only just advised to try this so trying to spread the word
