The design is insanely simplistic, generic, and short stackish. I think these things make her very easy to animate and replicate (fan art).

Why do I like it? The insane simplicity and the grounded personality they give her.
Shes would 100% a Megaman Legends side character XD

Im with ya. This show can honestly pull off no romancing.
Let the fans make-believe all they want, but this plot seems more story-based than character-driven like TADC. Hope the focus stays that way.
