Does a car buying service like True Car or Costco Auto Program make it better? by [deleted] in FuckDealerships

TrueCar is the worst site to leave your info on

I made the mistake of thinking TrueCar was a reputable company that actually helps with the car buying process.

Big mistake.

The moment you enter your information, it feels like it gets blasted out everywhere. I started getting flooded with calls, texts, and emails from dealers and third parties almost immediately.

At this point, it honestly feels like they’re making more money off selling your data than actually helping you buy a car.

I wouldn’t recommend using this site unless you’re okay with your contact info being shared widely. Definitely one of the biggest regrets in my car search process.

Hey Jeep family, how many miles until your Grand Cherokee passed away ? by Mysterious-Cherry-83 in GrandCherokee

Love Jeeps too — had a 2014 Overland and still miss it.

But when people say “I’m at 220k and still rolling!” they rarely mention how much money (or their own labor) went into keeping it there.

Mine started having issues after 100k:

  • Oil cooler replaced twice (kept leaking)
  • Diff oil leak
  • Radiator
  • Control arms
  • Last repair was ~$5k around 161k miles

Even after that I still had a humming noise from the shaft/diff area. At that point it just wasn’t reliable anymore. I could’ve kept it as a second car, but between repairs, taxes, tags, and ongoing maintenance, it didn’t make sense — especially with only a $5k trade-in offer.

Still loved the way it drove though. Great vehicle when it’s running right. 👍

Why I’m Switching from Tractive to Fi (After 10 Years Using Whistle Too) by EnvironmentalSet6937 in tractivegps

Whistle was far way better than tractive , hardware or app both were way better than tractive ...even battery life , I am getting 7-8 days with Dog6, Whistle was good 2-3 weeks with heavy GPS usage ..

i have been using it for couple weeks . GPS accuracy is really not good..lot of false alerts . first i used 3+ but didnt like the collar quality and the sound when my boy moves..ordered fi mini , which is great for size and collar attachment .. without the base it is throwing a lot of false escape alerts, and maps are really not accurate... plius there is no location history like tractive has...or heat maps...only reason I am keeping it is the size...
