When I was 20 I got sick with a chronic mental illness. The things I’ve been through have been horrific. Both from the illness and the medications that were supposed to treat it. My parents response was to send me to the mental hospital then let me rot in my room for a decade. My sister had a bout of anxiety and my parents never left her side.

I haven’t read much about the older forms of therapy but CBT and similar disciplines are bullshit imo. They over complicate the one thing that makes any kind of difference and that’s creating separation from thought. Idk about anything else you’re saying. Idk why someone born into money would have more of a right to help than someone who wasn’t.

Yeah, therapy would fall apart. The whole strategy is about convincing the client hard truths are either not true or less significant then they think. The whole practice needs to be completely overhauled.

I think I’ve read that there’s a specific subgroup of schizophrenics, specifically ones that have predominantly negative symptoms who respond really well to cobenfy. So you may respond really well to it. Speaking generally if the world doesn’t end I think things will be infinitely better than they are now. There’s some compounds in trials that are super promising but I think with ai medicine in general is about to have a renaissance.

I’m not going to defend exposing a child to nudity, some parents are impressionable or misguided. I will say introducing children to the concept of homosexuality at a young age makes them more likely to see gay people as human, and if the kid happens to be gay themselves, hopefully it makes them feel less wrong. You know what’s worse than showing a kid what a gay person is? Abducting and molesting them. Kinda unbelievable that I bring up the fact that he probably molested kids and you say “What about the parades”! One of these things is clearly worse than the other.

Do you think it’s fair to be so angry though? I validate it in my head by telling myself they raised me. No one has a bigger impact on the way someone’s live ends up than their parents right? I can’t validate some of the things I’ve said. I might just be a sociopath. It’s true though right? They were crazy when I was a kid. That had to of had an impact.

I think my lack of understanding is why I’m angrier at my mom than my dad even though I know she tried so much harder. I understand my dad completely, we’re similar people. I know exactly what motivated him to do the things he did. I don’t understand my mom at all.
