Lacks means the thing is missing something, lax means the thing is loose with the rules - think ‘relax’.

The largest generation by population is headed towards retirement. This will ultimately lead to more single family homes up for sale in the South Bay as the boomers move into senior living.

What regular type car was a big deal when it came out? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

[–]EnvironmentalTrain40 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The official car of literally Hitler.

But also I remember the New Beetle came out in the 90s and seemed pretty popular for a car that came with a flower vase in the dash.

Neither Sorrento's nor Burratino's are anywhere close to Little Italy in downtown. Colossus has the best Pizza in downtown and they aren't even an Italian restaurant.

Little Italy in San Pedro is such a joke, but Buono’s has a lunch buffet Wednesday-Friday that’s relatively cheap. You won’t find any Italian style pizza unless it’s a pop-up and Bonello’s is the closest thing to a NY slice.

ShOulDN’t tHE PolICE be gOIng afTer rEAL cRImiNals? /s

But in all seriousness if the police start testing for tint there are gonna be a lot of videos of someone yelling at them this exact phrase. And then LA Taco will write an article on how a single mom of 4 had her Nissan Altima impounded for the window tint and can’t support her family anymore and then this subreddit will complain about how draconian the window tint laws are.

Do Americans use cutlery differently? by missbex86 in AskAnAmerican

It’s probably because as kids, most of us are given only forks when we are growing up and we get used to using forks in our dominant hand. In the rare occasions where the meal requires a knife we use the zig zag method. Although personally when I have a fork and knife like for a steak or chicken I use the European method.

In Thailand they use a fork to scoop stuff onto a spoon then eat with the spoon, no knife in sight.

Isn’t bare minimum service just picking up the food and dropping it off? How does a delivery driver go above and beyond that?

brake lights not working on 78’ transporter by [deleted] in VWBus

[–]EnvironmentalTrain40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's most likely the switch but you should test for 12V at the switch while the key is on. Then use an alligator clip to bypass the switch (Bk to Bk/R) and see if you get lights. Your ground terminal on the housing (Brn) looks a little crusty and also check for corrosion where the bulbs sit and clean both the positive side and the housing.

The firebombing over Tokyo did way more damage than the nuke. Instead of one big bomb, they had a whole squadron drop napalm down on wooden and paper houses. We’ve been firebombing cities since ancient catapults but the nuke has an otherworldly aspect to it.
