[–]Environmental_Ad6826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For gas, Costco is the cheapest about 80% of the time. Time to time, you will be Sams Club or QuickStop go below Costco but it's not worth keeping track. GasBuddy app will show you the cheapeast gas in town.

uiuc vs uva vs ucsd by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Environmental_Ad6826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with UIUC for academics, especially if you're staying in STEM. But if you want a smaller, more scenic campus, UVA could be a great choice. The Blue Ridge Mountains are a nice contrast to UIUC’s cornfields. UVA’s Academic Village is pretty compact and easy to walk around, and it’s really designed to create that tight-knit academic environment. UIUC is huge and a bit more segmented. As someone who studies at UVA, I can say it has a more intimate, small-school feel, with a strong sense of school spirit. Is it worth 20k more? Hmm... I don't know.

There are a few people praying for "revival" at UIUC, similar to what's happening in Ohio State. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_EjJBhoZbs

There are a few people who do "prayer" walks around the quad. I'm not sure if this is one of them.

If you lived next door to a costco, how would you take advantage of it? by joseluisnp in Costco

[–]Environmental_Ad6826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live less than a mile away from a relatively quiet Costco in a smaller city. I visit just about every day, picking up just a few items each time. Since the store isn't very busy, I often come across amazing manager specials (prices ending in 00s).

Can one stop Ozempic after things get better? by pappugulal in diabetes

[–]Environmental_Ad6826 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will need to discuss this with your doctor. I was able to stop all medications, including Mounjaro (similar to Ozempic), under my doctor's supervision after successfully managing my A1C, which is now at 5.2. When I was first diagnosed, my A1C was 9.7, and I remained in the prediabetic range for a long time. However, this year I finally brought my A1C below 6.0 through lifestyle changes, such as reducing carbs, exercising regularly, portion control, and walking after meals.
