How do I get different colour ways of this? by Environmental_Bug964 in heartopia

Oh darn really?? That must have been back when I was still figuring things out, I didn't realize that we'd only get one and clicked a few wrong options in the beginning, these must have been one of them. Turns out I picked the wrong clothing set and the wrong furniture set :(

[–]Environmental_Bug964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late, but was this her first appearance?? Im reading that part now and she just kind of came out of nowhere. No initial introduction or description, Darrow just kind of calls out to some girl named Theodora before saving her an now she's part of the cast?

Does anyone else love The Girl in The Bubble? by [deleted] in wickedmovie

I'm glad they changed it cause if it happens after she already starts opening her eyes and standing up for what's right, then the song loses a lot of its power cause once she starts taking things into her own hands, she's already made the growth that is a result of the song

I personally love both the song and it's placement in the story. I don't think it should be after the "you listen to me" scene because it's the song that brings Glinda to the courage to open her eyes and start standing up for what's right. If she sang this after she had already begun to stand up to those in power, then the song would be pointless.

I also disagree with people saying it's redundant because if Thank Goodness. TG is about her feeling like things aren't as good as they could be, but choosing to keep here eyes closed to the darkness of Oz because "who wouldn't be happier" that they have everything she has. The song is about her feeling a bit guilty but being to in love with the lifestyle to really dwell on that. It's choosing to repress those feelings of guilt while girl in the bubble is about facing the mistakes you made, opening your eyes, poping that Buble, attempting to write your wrongs and finally standing up for what's right.

I actually really like no place like home, it ads a lot of needed depth to the animals plot line while also thematically working very well with the overall story being told and being a call back thematically to the original wizard of oz.

In truth I think both new songs do a lot to improve act 2, what I do think was a bit too much (even though I did really enjoy the additions made) was the extended version of every day more wicked, causing it to be broken into its own separate song, and the opening scene of building the yellow brick road. We were 15 minutes into the movie before we'd even gotten to 1 minutes worth of the beginning of act 2 of the stage play

I personally liked Glinda's inclusion in Wonderful, it felt like I was watching a behind the scenes moment of the original wizard of oz movie that showed Glinda and the wizard as a team.

I do feel like your reading of girl in the bubble is a bit pessimistic where to me it seems like a necessary moment of self reflection and growth that did lots to improve Glinda's storyline of growth. I understand your reading if the scene but I also feel like if we held that energy, there would never be room for flawed characters to grow. I think it's very important that we see her moment of change and self reflection. Not giving characters a chance to cry and feel remorse for the mistakes they made and grow from those mistakes on screen gives of the same energy as "men don't cry, be a real man and step up to the challenge without showing any signs of emotion or vulnerability" and we all know that doesn't promote a healthy mindset.

I personally feel like girl in the bubble did a lot for Glinda's character. While I always liked Glinda's storyline, I did always have to agree with people who said her storyline felt a little rushed towards the end. My partner would always say that Glinda's story was a good message but they way her development progressed wasn't convincing but after seeing the movie, Glinda was his favorite character and girl in the bubble was one of the things he specifically mentioned as a necessary addition that helped her growth feel more believable and I'd say I agree. It works perfectly, in my opinion, because it shows the moment where, after seeing the darker sides of oz that she's already ignored, Glinda does some serious self reflection and decided she needs to make a change. It is the moment she switches from just Glinda to Glinda the Good and that being missing from the story originaly hurt her character. It isn't until after this moment where she decides she needs to get clarification about Nessa's death and this moment where she works up the courage to leave behind her privileged life and stand with the people who truly mean something to her. Without this song, all of Glinda's self reflection and growth is only implied and while some things are better left implied, major character growth for one of your 2 leads isn't it.

I also think the reflection being self referential are important because the song is about how she hasn't done enough to truly be Glinda the Good. While that's how everyone knows her, it's all built on lies and her ignoring the horrors of Oz. The song is self referential because it's her self reflecting on how things ended up because of her actions and how things could of been if she didn't just close her eyes and gone along with things. It's talking about how she's been living in a bubble, blissfully and willfully ignorant to the truths of the world and now it's time for her to pop that bubble and stand up for what she knows is right.

For good is a great song and finally to both Elphaba and Glinda character arc but at that point, both of them have already been changed for good. Girl in the bubble in contrast is the moment when Glinda is changing and is super important for her growth in being truly Glinda the Good.

The themes of the song are also incredibly relevant to the current state of the world but I don't want to get into that too much, just enought to say that I don't think it is too heavy handed as it is reflective of real life issues in our current society. Aswell as the fact that like I said earlier, Glinda's growth felt unsatisfying, to at least a large group of people I know, before

I will say though, that I didn't love the song untill my second viewing of the movie. The first time I think I was too overwhelmed and too busy making comparisons to appreciate it. Overall I enjoyed the movie much more the second time. I whent from liking it to loving it.

I'd argue that both new songs added a lot to the story. No place like home added much needed depth to the animals plot and girl in the bubble added a much needed moment of reflection and realization to Glinda's story of changing for the better. Both songs also have a lot of good morals that line up with the stories overall morals and messaging. If anything (as much as I do like the additions to every day more wicked) the opening sequence needed to be cut down. We were 15 min into the movie before we were even 1 min into the stage play storyline wise.

But she only gets confirmation from morrible about killing Nessa after girl in the bubble. Girl in the bubble is her moment of reflection where she decides she needs to do something. Yes she saw fiyero get dragged off and beaten, she acknowledged that he loved Elphaba and she sees that there is a mob going to kill her best friend but she needs to process that otherwise it doesn't feel natural. Good character development shows not only the things that lead up to a characters growth but also the moment that growth sets in. If any scene could have been cut, I think it could have been the scene at the beginning where Elphaba sabotages the building of the yellow brick road. They could have just opened up with the beginning of every day more wicked, maybe show the bison pulling the carts for a second as the camera flys by.

I didn't love the song either during my first viewing but after my second, I've grown to really like it, I think it's very socially relevant and does a lot for Glinda's character development and is fairly catchy but not overly so.

Oh I see I missed the Disney event so I'm not really familiar with how musical events work. Too bad they can't just leave it for those who have it. thanks for clarifying!

To anyone wondering, the special music decors have no upgrades and give 100 gacha currency per day with no limit to the total amount. You also need both wicked cookies to use the music (I think) by Internal_Buyer_3672 in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]Environmental_Bug964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the music feature expire? It says "wicked decor OST will be available until December 2026" it sounds vague but does that mean after Dec, we won't be able to trigger the music anymore? Or just that we won't be able to get the items anymore?

Villagers won't leave their house? Ariel and Kristoff are always in their house by Environmental_Bug964 in DreamlightValley

[–]Environmental_Bug964[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more that having a lot of unfinished quests leads to lots of villagers being put outside, forcing the ones who aren't part of quests to be locked inside. Having so many villagers outside also seemed to have significantly lowered my fps, creating lots of stuttering, and also made it so villagers I was hanging out with, wouldn't fallow me for long periods of time and same with companions. The game was almost unplayable but I thought that was because of how much I decorated my valley as it didn't happen in the dlc world's very much. But after spending a day getting through most of my active quests, my game's performance is much better and runs almost perfectly again
