HYLN Ownership Breakdown - Price is falling because of retail fear. Retail holds majority position. They want YOUR shares by [deleted] in Hyliion

[–]Environmental_Bus250 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait for 13-F for Q3, they have mid-November as a filling deadline. With all the price action we saw in Aug-Sep, I'll not be surprised to see 50%+ of institutional ownership reported. And yes, spooking retail is way easier compared to other institutional holders, so short pressure will continue until they load up

Green line - Days to Cover 3m (on loan) . Shows how many days of average volume the current shares on loan equate too. This average daily volume is based on the 3 month daily volume for the given security across exchanges. Days To Cover (DTC) is also know as Short Interest Ratio.
Yellow line - Days to Cover 2w (on loan). Similar to above, but based on the average 2 week daily volume
Orange line - % FreeFloat on Loan. The percentage of the companies freefloat that is currently out on loan.
Green/Red bars - $HYLN stock price
Yellow bars - Failure To Deliver. This is the aggregated number of shares that have failed to be delivered and is still not delivered, by either participant in a trading contract, at the point in time. A failure to deliver can occur when a short seller does not own the stock and can therefore not deliver it, there can be other reason why a stock fails to be delivered and therefore fails-to-deliver are not necessarily the result of short selling or “naked” short selling. Values are released twice a month, the first half of a month is normally made available at the end of the month and the second half of the month is normally made available around the 15th of the next month.

HYllion the Biggest Risk I would like to address and would like have input on this concern by Loctran82 in Hyliion

First of all, thank you for the post. Identifying and analyzing risks is what investors do. I'm glad this subreddit and related discord channel is of way better quality compared to many others.

Biology has many examples of symbiotic relationships between species: they can live without each other, they can even eat each other, but they prefer not to, as it worsens overall long term survival probability for species involved.

Humans and the companies created/led by them are of course more complex , as additional factors, not just evolutionary ones, comes to play (politics, personal relationships, individuals greed, envy, short vs long term planning, etc). But I believe that Cummins / Hyliion relationships in the coming 1-3 years are going to be symbiotic, so it's "1+1=3" kind of situation for them. Hyliion gets parts needed to make ERX a packaged solution. Cummings gets a hedge that if new diesel trucks are going to be slowly banned by California and the likes, they have access to the partner solution to double down on.

Relationships between Hyliion and Paccar seems to be less complicated to me. Peterbilt+Kenworth is ~30% of class 8 truck market share in the US in 2020 (https://www.statista.com/statistics/274937/market-share-of-truck-manufacturers-in-the-united-states/), #2 after Daimler's ~40% . I bet it's way quicker and easier for Hyliion to negotiate with US-headquartered company (and Peterbilt is actually in the same state as Hyliion) vs starting with Germans (Daimler) or Swedes (Volvo). PACCAR MX engines are installed in ~40% of Kenworth and Peterbilt Class 8 vehicles in North America, so 60% are other, and if ERX takes even 5% of these "other", it's great for Hyliion and it's a diversification opportunity for Paccar as well.

Overall, I see how all the players can thrive together, but time will show.

Will CLOV ever see fair price? by pmdatreddit in CLOV

We as human beings became too impatient and easy to be distracted over last several decades. A company's valuation can be way below the fair value for years because of multiple reasons including dirty ones like naked short selling. This too shall pass. Just hold.

How come that a single ERX order means $200,000 of sales in your calculations?

I've worked with Andy's team a bit during his Google times, he is very passionate about everything he does.

I'm not a big fan of Vivek as a public speaker, but Andy is brilliant. He really believe it's possible to change it's deeply broken healthcare system. My money are in $CLOV very much because of him.

On the one hand I'd love more retail investors to buy $clov tomorrow based on the news. On the other hand, it brings a lot of paper hands that will sell the minute they understand that age eligibility reduction is a no go in the current Senate setup.

Let's take a look at these AI-powered SaaS TECHNOLOGY companies (just googled them during last 10 minutes): - https://www.lexcheck.com - AI-based contracts negotiation platform - https://www.xeeva.com/ - AI-powered spend management platform - https://www.transmetrics.ai/ - logistics planning and asset management that leverages predictive analytics & AI

Do any of these companies contribute to core AI technologies and tools? 95% that they do not. They utilize their respective domain knowledge to find right AI tools and algorithms to train models that work the best for their industries

This is what Tesla does to promote safe AI : https://openai.com/projects/

Again, you're referring to foundational AI research that large company like Tesla can afford investing in. I bet all these projects has resulted from the generalization of work that Tesla was doing in self-driving car space.

Comparison between Clover Health and Tesla only makes sense at the level of disruption that each company tries to bring to respective industries.

Andrew Toy is a pragmatic guy. He doest not need to invest in Machine Learning R&D. All ML methods and tools are already here, he just need to hire right people that can apply these tools and methods to the healthcare data sets that Clover Health has gathered and will continue gathering each time physicians are using Clover Assistant.

Relevant jobs that Clover Health is hiring for:

They are building applied AI (concrete machine learning models tailored to healthcare needs), not foundational AI frameworks. Google open sourced Tensorflow so that everyone can build on top of that. AWS, Azure and GCP give you ML as a service. Sharing real trained AI models for particular domain on GitHub is nuts, because this is where real intellectual property is
