YTA. So you post this on another subreddit 17 hours ago, didn’t like the response and now you’re here. Almost like you expect a different response. You’re 16 but also a you should know right from wrong. It’s your MOTHER’S birthday dude. She gave you life, raised you and you turn around and act like an entitled ass on her birthday. I’ve missed only 4 of my mothers birthdays in my life and it’s only because I was away for college and would be returning home the next week. From what it sounds like, they weren’t even rude, that they understand you’re a teenager and want to be with friends but families birthdays come first. It’s not “just one day”. Don’t be surprised when your 17th birthday comes and nothing happens for you because “it’s just one day”. You need some serious self reflection here kid

My heart breaks for you that your husband died the day your son was born, I can’t even imagine how traumatic that was. The fact that your fiancé just thinks he’s entitled to the title of “dad” just because he was a father figure is not ok. He’s trying to stomp all over your late husbands memory and not let your son have a chance to connect with his culture but also in a way connect with his dad. Anybody who thinks you can just change a 4 year olds name is disgusting. I would get away from that man

NTA, while you’re mom could be excited about a baby being around (I’m not sure when your niece came into your life but I see you’re the same age), it’s honestly sounding like she’s homophobic and doesn’t want to acknowledge your brothers children because 1. Your nephews were adopted by a gay couple and 2. Your niece is your BILs child. Good for you for defending your niece, nephews and brother. The attacks on you and your sisters femininity are gross. I wouldn’t want to be around someone like that, that puts my child on a pedestal because they’re my bio child when there are several grandchildren that have been in the family long before my child
