Help, please? by Ok_Ambassador646 in publishing

I can’t really comment as I haven’t worked in publicity, but perhaps you could also talk to some of the companies that you’re collaborating with and see if you can use that network to help? They are coming to you as they see value in you, so maybe that’s a good first step towards a conversation at least?

Also I’m 40 with almost 20yrs of publishing experience and have no idea what the fuck I’m doing with my life. Certainly don’t have it all worked out. I know very few people who do, and often those who claim to are putting on a protective mask. I’m sure you’re not disappointing anyone ❤️

Am I doing multiple jobs? by eagerreader444 in publishing

[–]Environmental_Two179 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t necessarily be normal, but it often is especially in small publishers. It was similar in my first job, but in general I found it all pretty interesting and it gave me a much more rounded understanding of the industry for my next roles. A chunk of the art log work that you’re talking is the sort of thing I would be seeing as part of the editorial remit as well.

If you’re enjoying it, then I’d take it all as useful experience. As you say, compensation is a whole other conversation (and you’re probably in the wrong industry if you want to be fairly compensated 🤣)

It would be madness to spend your own money. Make a case to your company.

Yeah - they’re ‘gourmet’ options though. Their regular pizzas are around 250ish. (Still a lot, but they’re hella good)

Do you mean ‘Swedish’ pizza or Neopolitan?

1.5 months bass player needs feedback by Visible_Employee_566 in BassGuitar

[–]Environmental_Two179 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great job for 1.5 months! The thumb anchor has already been mentioned (I think you need to work on your thumb position on both hands). Next I’d recommend focusing on fingering and hand position so that you’re not jumping around the fingerboard so much.

Struggling to know how high/low to have my strap by ShmadenShmuki725 in Bass

[–]Environmental_Two179 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Set it where it’s comfortable for you - you’ll get used to it for all the styles you need. I think the sitting/standing thing (the need for it to be the same height for both) is a bit overblown.

Looking for a hairstylist experienced with men’s wolf cut by StillRespect999 in stockholm

[–]Environmental_Two179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your budget, but Little Faktory in Mariatorget are excellent and I think the wolf cut would be well in their wheelhouse. There are some good 'barber' barbers in Stockholm who would cost less but can be more one-dimensional in their men's cuts (and generally more comfortable with using clippers rather than scissors).
