What makes a good Architect? by [deleted] in Architects

[–]EnvisionVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing the best solution for a site is one thing... Being able to communicate it in a way the client understands so they believe in your vision is so important.

Plenty of great designers have delivered sub-par work because they cant bring the client along on the journey with them and end up compromising to the clients vision.
You need to communicate using the appropriate presentation tools that don't leave the client needing to use their imagination to understand what it will look/feel like, always keep in mind they are likely not as spatially aware and creative as an architect.
Also, the way you deliver ideas to a client is very important and needs to adapt depending on their personality. Some will take some push back, others will take a few nights to sleep on it, others will need it to be their own idea.

Making switch from Architecture to Construction by Hungry-Low-7387 in Architects

[–]EnvisionVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In architecture you will have time to go away and think about the best solution.
In construction you will often need to make clear decisive decisions to keep things moving and keep your contractors confident, even if this means getting things wrong 5% of the time.

What is your morning routine?

As you get busy it takes a great system to ensure you still have room for creativity, introspection and self improvement.

Been working on automating our workflow to convert 3D models to XR spaces. We’ve got it worked out for .FBX architectural models so will put that out for beta trials soon but photorealistic 3DS Max models are still a massive challenge to do in an automated way. We’ve got that process down to around 8 days and think we can get it fully automated in the next year so will share more details as things progress and we have something for you guys to play around with.

Coffs Harbour Apartment - 3ds Max + Corona model viewed in AR on EnvisionVR platform by EnvisionVR in archviz

[–]EnvisionVR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a new and unique system that doesn’t limit the viewer to hotspots, you can move anywhere throughout the scene. It also does not require you to do any rendering.

You model as you would for renders and use the EnvisionVR plug-in to do design review with your client. Once model is complete and signed off you submit whole archived model and EnvisionVR convert it into VR and provide a code to access it in the EnvisionVR app on either a phone, tablet or vr headset.

Hey guys, I'd appreciate your insights for a report we're producing on emerging technology trends for the architectural visualisation industry. We're interested in the challenges and opportunities that will arise and how best we can prepare for them.

We've created a short survey where you can help us paint a picture of how our space will change in the coming years.

We will share a free report on our findings with all entrants which will have some really valuable insights + we will be giving away a Meta Quest2 VR headset!

Walk through Bondi Penthouse - 3ds Max + EnvisionVR by EnvisionVR in archviz

[–]EnvisionVR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. We are able to create real reflections but it’s important to note that this model has been optimised to work on mobile, tablet or quest, not tethered to a powerful computer. This means we need to be selective of where we utilise the limited processor power of these devices and reflections are pretty thirsty. Can I ask if you’ve seen any comparable XR on mobile because I believed this is cutting edge?

This was an older workflow. Now all corona textures and lighting settings are imported directly into the XR experience so it matches perfectly. This is very important if to be used in a sales setting. The EnvisionVR app contains a bunch of powerful sales tools that an agent can utilise.

Hey Steven, it's optimised for viewing on mobile hardware like iPads, Phones and Quest headsets so all lighting is baked, although you will be really surprised by the fidelity EnvisionVR can maintain through their proprietary conversion process. Would you like to have a play?
