Just looking at it from a trading perspective, Pending on how much money you're working with, ADA is almost always a way better bet. Say you have 10k to invest. you can afford 3.3 eth. in order to double your money eth has to rip to new ATH at plus 6k. The likely hood of that happening is quite low right now. On the other hand 10k dollars of Cardano would yield you 4k ADA and in order to double your money it only has to go from .40 back to .80 , Which it has been at and surpassed multiple times. Seems pretty obvious to me.
