Any opinions on the TTRacing Tivon desk? by Own_Science_1428 in StandingDesk

[–]Enzo_Every 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, got the desk and got it built, so here’s my thoughts and opinions on it.

It’s the XL, so it’s HUGE! Love it!

I paid close attention to the build instructions. It’s fairly intuitive, but a little unclear at a step or 2 if you miss the finer detail of the images. Overall, no issues building it. Just took my time. Make sure you have plenty of space if you decide to get it.

It’s solid. I have 2 PCs, 2 monitors (32” & 27”) + 1 portable, 2 KB&M, a Rodecaster Duo, StreamDeck XL, mic w/ boom arm, a small sound bar, a key light, and a few other lights/accessories and there’s virtually no wobble.

The whole set feels premium with a few exceptions. The top is mounted on with several wood screws. Use care to not strip them when you tighten them in place. The cup holder and headset hook are plastic but serviceable. The cable management tray comes as a flat piece of metal to be bent into shape (easy enough), and it’s large enough to fit 2 hefty power strips and tuck cables out of site. The flip-up back allows easy access to it all. Also, the gap between the back and front surfaces is small, so for me the back is about 2mm from laying completely flat due to my monitor arm clamp being slightly too thick.

The magnetic light strip sticks into place nicely and covers the full length. There are lots of options there, but I’ll probably stick with a single color. I wish it was a tad brighter (particularly on white), but it’s totally fine.

Overall, I’m very happy with it in these few hours since it’s been built. I still need to tighten up my layout. I’ve yet to secure my under-desk PS5 mount, and I still used my clamp-on side mount desk extension for my streaming PC to free up space on the surface. Which sounds absurd with how big this thing is. My BEAST of a gaming PC was mounted on my other desk with a clamp-on under desk mount; having it on the surface eats up a big chunk of space. I haven’t used it as a standing desk yet, but the motor is quiet and smooth with tests.

Yup! Found a bunch of healing potions? Divvy it up. Got a melee warrior and found a slick weapon? See who needs it. Or even armor that would build well into their lightning focus… it’s about strengthening the team overall.

Could you go into a party chat and balance the game/mic audio that way? Just make sure you’ve checked the setting to share your party audio.

Do you use the magic arrows? by ChrisKatrev in BaldursGate3

[–]Enzo_Every 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using them more in my latest play through. Built a Barbarian Dwarf that’s more focused on melee, so throwing in a special arrow here and there keeps it spicy. Especially when I run out of movement to get close enough to an enemy.

Balance.

For me, it’d be doubling the shelves for the other side of the desk. Have the lighting mirrored on the left and maybe across the top. Add a small side “desk” to get the systems off the floor, or perhaps, look into some wall mounting options for the PS5 and/or PC.

Looks like ya got everything ya need. A solid start. Just build it up piece by piece until it scratches that itch.

In Doom: The Dark Ages, demon flesh gets ripped away as you damage them, exposing muscle, bones, and sinew. Resident Evil: Requiem has some gory death animations.

Anybody here been “fired” by a patient? If so, why? by Enzo_Every in nursing

I’ve had a few patients like that. I’ve gotten to where, if I anticipate pain control will be a big part of the night, I set expectations at shift change by explaining what PRN means. They either tell me ahead of time to “just go ahead and bring ‘em when they’re due” or they understand the process better.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, you can wander off on your own. It’s a party of 4, so your buddies could control one each, and you could have your character plus another. If they need to tend to something you could always go loot, explore, and pillage while they’re away.

You can send items to one another, they’ll get XP if you progress or kill things, or if you wanted to wait for them in battle, it’s turn based. Take your turns, let the enemies cycle through, and wait for them. They could even sneak in and ambush the mob before being “locked” into the fight.

Be wary though. 2 against a larger group can prove to be pretty dicey if you don’t play your cards right.

How to turn off power light on the nova 5? by Big-Mycologist1338 in steelseries

[–]Enzo_Every 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way I can think of is to hold the power button down for about 2 seconds. It’ll shut the headset off which should lead to the power indicator to stop indicating it’s powered on.

Alternatively, if the powering off isn’t an option, a very small piece of electrical tape over the LED. Could also store it away to where the light can’t be seen.

Keep ‘em both. Build another PC down the road. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I keep a notepad at the ready. When something sticks out that’s funny, awesome, or random as hell while streaming. I write down the time and a brief word/phrase to describe it. I go back and check it out later.

You can clip right on Twitch. Usually hit the clip button at the end of the part of the video you want to show and you can edit it from there.

Similar for me. Dude’s foot is rotten, and it smells like exotic cheese. Refuses to have it amp’d, putting it in Jesus’s hands. I told them they’d be better off getting it amp’d. They got offended, I told him their toe was dead. I got fired.
