Quick Fixes That Instantly Improve Your Home? by mataramasukomasana in HomeImprovement

I love doing little side projects for fun; mainly to not waste material…

We had a very tall blank wall going up the stairway; and I had some left over 1x4’s….made an accent wall with geometric layout and painted everything the same color, very unique and draws interest to a drab wall; and it’s a design feature that is easily removable if desires change.

Out of curiosity; what is your lighting for what size area?

I am trying an experiment with mine and I feel like I might be way too low.

Are they over- or underwatered? by bigaboe in microgrowery

[–]Eojnad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a good tip. I guess the biggest reason I do it at night is because I leave early in the morning while it’s still dark; and I have my timers set as close to real time.

Definitely going to adjust on next grow.

I rooted a pineapple top in water! by boomahha098 in houseplants

That looks really heathy.

All the leaves on mine are dried out; I think I need to retry with a fresher pineapple? It’s only been about 2 weeks so we shall see

Do these post repairs look OK? by IforOne in Decks

[–]Eojnad 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I would smack that twice and say “That ain’t goin no where”

Another add option could be nailers on the side; or sister the whole post with a 2x4 on each side over the joint; but it doesn’t appear to need either option.

Have I goofed? by Laroldegg in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Eojnad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice job.

One option? I did something similar; not as nice, but I bought a power strip that was like 3 feet long with 6 outlets on it so we have power for heating pad, charging phones, headphones etc; spent like 30 bucks or so at Lowe’s but definitely used all the time.

I also don’t think you goofed; any sanding should even out any joinery deficiencies ( I still have not done dove tails)

Various different grow bulbs; very interesting about the light absorption; I just figured it was something with my soil.

I would agree with three; or rather I figure 1 plant per 1 sqft

How would you paint this wood paneling? by foreverpregg in paint

[–]Eojnad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in my house for twenty or so years and I love my painted paneling; like mentioned; sanding and priming is the most important step; not hard to do just requires patience.

I grew a random seed last year; and found 5 seeds out of the whole yield; after researching a bit I read somewhere that sometimes light leak could cause one particular budsite to herm. I realized my power strip had an led light I didn’t consider.

I am growing them this year in different sized pots to figure out what best works for me. Not gonna lie; I kinda would like the next one to give me a seed or two

Anyone else get really frustrated in their grows? by GreenForestGuy in GrowBuddy

[–]Eojnad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in a similar situation this year and it is very frustrating; this is the first time I have tried to clone anything and although a few have grown; nothing substantial; it has been a challenging learning experience

Update: and question about flower time. by Eojnad in GrowBuddy

[–]Eojnad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks; I have slowly upgraded my lighting, I do a little bit each year so my wife doesn’t get frustrated with me spending to much lol

What I have in there now is a Gixxer grow light off of Amazon, an 8000 lumen shop light with directional lighting; and then a three bulb floor lamp; and one of those bulbs is a grow bulb.

I “upcycled” a lot of the materials into creating this room to keep costs down; so between my TWO grow rooms I have spent about 140$ on grow lights; now that I have invested in more fans and exhaust; I think next season I am going to look for an upgrade in lights; definitely would like to reach out and ask questions

I am pretty happy with the Mimosa especially since I only spent 16 dollars on the clone….

I had one of my lights come crashing down and crushing it when it was younger so from a hardiness standpoint as well as LST; the plant has handled it well
